{Shota - Junior High 3rd Year}

There were parent-teacher conference meetings today which meant I got to stay home while Watanabe-sensei went to work.

He was just about ready to leave when I said,

"See you later, Dad." It was a subconscious sentence. I immediately covered my mouth with the realization of what I had said.

Watanabe-sensei froze when he had grabbed the door knob.

Crap. He's gonna think I'm weird now. I panicked.

"I am so sorry, Sensei!" I quickly apologized.
He turned around with a smile that made him glow.

"Don't worry about it, Shota! You can call me whatever makes you comfortable!" He exclaimed.
I sighed with relief.

"Okay. See you later." I bid my farewell.

I took a short nap and then I added any specific details I wanted for my hero costume. Not much changes, but it still works. I just tried to make it look a bit better.

I turned on the TV. The first thing I saw was a stray cat. They were showing animals like that on the news.

My heart melted at the sight of the cat.

Adorable. I thought. I shook my head.

A hero doesn't let things distract them!

My phone began to ring.

It made me realize that Sensei should've been home by now.

I went over to the table and picked up my phone.
It was Watanabe-sensei.

"Hi?" I asked. "Where are you?"

I heard a women's breathing on the other line.

"Um..are you Aizawa? Mr. Watanabe's son?"

Why is this women using his phone?

"Yeah..?"

She took a deep breath.

What is this about?

"Aizawa," She began. "I'm sorry to tell you this, but Mr. Watanabe died in a car crash."

I froze and dropped my phone. I couldn't think. I felt like I couldn't breathe.

"Um..Aizawa? Are you okay?" The women asked.

I leaned over and picked up my phone.

"Yes. Where is he now?" I continued to ask.

She told me the address of the hospital he was being kept at.

"Thank you." I sent my gratitude and hung up.
I placed my phone down and stood where I was. Frozen.

All of a sudden, I feel to my knees.

I held on to my stomach. My tears dropped on the floor.

"No.." I whispered. "No!" I changed from a whisper to a yell. I couldn't contain my tears.
I tried. I wiped them away.

I won't believe it until I see him! I told myself.

I put on my sweater and boots and ran out the door. I found a bike someone had left out on the street and made my way to the hospital using a GPS on my phone.

I could tell people were looking at me.

Tears were running down my face as fast as I was moving.

I finally made it to the hospital. I left the bike on the sidewalk and ran inside.
