Gregor and the Prophecy of War (Book 6)

Chapter 1

It had officially been 5 years, 9 months and 10 days since Gregor had left the underground world called the Underland. It is located under the city of New York where Gregor lived. He had many friends there he could never forget especially one of them which he loved very much, he could still remember her violet eyes, her silver-blonde hair and her half smile. Luxa.

Gregor woke up sweating and panting. He had another one of his many nightmares he had been haunted with since he left the Underland. In this one he fell to his death with no Ares to save him. He was still devastated about his bond's death but tried not to think about it much.

He looked over to his clock. 4:30 am. He put on some pants and a shirt and went for a run. By now most of his scars had cleared but the five scars on his chest still remained and weren't going anywhere soon. But at least Gregor could wear regular clothes again.

He got home from his run at 6:00 am and decided to go get ready for school. He showered and put on some clothes. Gregor's family wasn't able to move to Virginia after all. What with his sick grandma, his dad and mom recovering there was no way they would make the trip. His grandma eventually died 3 years ago and it was a sad time for Gregor and his family but they got through it. Gregor's mom and dad both got better jobs so they had enough money to move into their own house.

Gregor went downstairs to find his mom starting breakfast, his dad reading newspaper and Lizzie reviewing her textbook one last time. She was now in Grade 7 and had her first final exam today and she was freaking out about it. Gregor was just finishing high school and he decided after he graduated on Saturday ,he would ask his parents about living in the Underland. He knew his mom's answer would be an immediate no but his dad understood how much the Underland meant to him.

"Good morning,guys," said Gregor.

"Good morning, Gregor," his parents replied. Lizzie was too focused on her book.

"What's for breakfast?" he asked.
"Pancakes," said his mom.

As Gregor sat down and waited Boots came downstairs " Good morning everyone," she said cheerfully.

"Morning," everyone replied.

They all had breakfast and headed off to their various places. Gregor's dad went to work and dropped Boots off on the way, his mom went to work too leaving Gregor and Lizzie to walk to school together.

The school day went by as it usually did. Long boring classes, lunch with his friends, Larry and Angelina and more classes till the end of the day. Gregor and Lizzie met at the front of the school and made their way home. No one was home as usual so Lizzie went to her room to study for her next exam and Gregor started some lunch or him and his sisters. Boots got home a few minutes later from the bus.

"Hey Boots, how was school?" asked Gregor.

"It was good," she replied dully.

They had lunch and just stayed in their rooms the rest of the evening had dinner and got ready for bed.
