X Eight X

Tom sat in bed and sighed. He looked to the empty bed next to him where Ava used to sleep. He felt horrid for how he had treated her. He knew it was wrong.

Tom knew he wanted to win her back. But she was having a hard time forgiving him for everything. Tom hated how she was staying with Leigh.

He knew that he wasn't giving up on getting her back. It was the only thing he was sure of in life. That he was going to get Ava Taylor back.

Ava went into work that morning and sighed. She saw Tom looking at her. Ava shook her head and walked off.

She saw Leigh and smiled. "Hey. You okay?
Where's Autumn?" She asked.

"She's with Max. He's had her for a couple of days. I've been with my mum. She's ill."

Ava nodded and smiled. "And how is she now?"

"She's getting there. I obviously had to come back to work. Max is bringing Autumn back tonight."

Ava smiled. "Tom keeps looking at me. I'm so tempted to just give in and take him back. But I know I can't do that. He broke me. He broke my heart and I'm just scared in case it happens again," she admitted.

Leigh nodded and sighed. "The only thing you can do here is just talk to him. Tell him what you want. Tell him how you feel."

"I'm just scared I guess. I don't wanna open my heart just for him to turn into an ass again. I know that I won't cope with it at all," Ava said.

"I know babes. I get you."

Ava was sitting in the staffroom. She looked up as Tom walked in. He looked to her. "Hey. I'm sorry about how I accused you of sleeping with Max. I know you wouldn't. I'm the one who was cheating," he said.

Ava sighed as she looked to him. "I don't understand why you've had to treat me like this though. I haven't done anything wrong at all. So many times I've wanted to give you a second chance. But then I think about how you hurt me. And I just can't do it."

Tom took her hand. "It will be different. I promise. You and me. That's all I want from life. You, me and a future. Come on?" He said.

"I don't know Tom. I really don't."

Tom sighed. He knew that everything was just going wrong at the moment. He looked to her. "I don't want to give up on us. I don't want you to give up on us," he said as he turned and walked off.

Ava was sitting in the classroom. She sighed as she looked to her phone. She was haunted by the picture of her and Tom. She knew that she missed him. But she couldn't risk her heart again.

Leigh walked in and looked to her. "Are you okay babes?" She asked as she smiled.

Ava shrugged and sighed. She looked to Leigh. "I miss Tom. But I'm scared. I've told him how I feel. And I just don't think he accepts that," she said.

"Stand your ground. And don't let him break your heart. Okay?"

"Okay."

But with how Ava was feeling, could she risk giving Tom another chance?
