I Saw You

Part 6

It's Monday again. Sitting up in my bed I rub my eyes and notice how dry my mouth is. I reach over to my nightstand and sip some water. I yawn and look at my phone. Just a few notifications from Snapchat and google classroom. I set my phone down and stretch my arms over my head.

Thankfully I'd slept in the clothes I was wearing the next day so getting ready would be a problem. My makeup sat on the corner of my bed waiting to be used while I put on music. I quickly throw on some eyeliner and eyeshadow so I could relax before another long week.

Maddie's party was fun, I love being able to let loose. I don't remember much after Ashley took the beer out of my mouth, but I think I had a run-in with Andrew. I could genuinely care less though.

My alarm goes off when I need to stand up, so I get off my bed and walk to the bathroom. Brushing my teeth and inspect my make-up in the mirror. I determine it's good enough and head back to my room. Reaching under one of my pillows I grab my vape and take a few long rips.

A headache I didn't even notice slowly fell away and a welcome sense of calm rushed over me. My cart sat tempting on another pillow. I picked it up and hit it a few times before I heard my mom calling for me.

"Del! We gotta go!" Her voice coming from downstairs, "One sec!" I shove my vape and cart into my bra and begrudgingly pick up my backpack. Heading out the door I feel my mom close behind.

"Del, why are you not taking your car?" She questions while we both enter her jeep, "I don't feel like driving on a Monday morning." I respond truthfully.

She hums and backs out. Soft music is playing through the speakers. I feel my phone buzz.

Maddie: DEL WHERE ARE YOU?!

Ashley: DEL GET TO SCHOOL

Gina: GIRL WHERE ARE YOU

Maddie: GO TO LOBBY BR WHEN YOU GET HERE!!

What the fuck? They probably want my cart or some shit. I put my phone down and stare out the window. The school comes into view and I sigh.

"Bye mom," I say stepping out of the car. She smiles and drives away.

As I'm walking into the school two girls look at me and smile. I gave them a strange look and continued walking. Inside it feels like everyone is watching me. Smiles, and giggles from people all around.

I put my head down and walk quickly to the bathroom.

"Okay, what the fuck is going on? Why was everyone looking at me?" Ashely, Gina, and Maddie look at me with sad expressions, "What?" I ask.

Gina walks over and plays a video.

It's me and Andrew? It looks like it was taken through a small opening in a door. I'm all up in Andrew's face and he looks mad. The video ends when I turn toward the camera.

"The hell?" My eyebrows are furrowed as I look at my friends.

Maddie starts, "Listen this is going to piss you off. Everyone thinks you and Andrew are hooking up. They don't even know the context of the video!"

"What." My ears burned with anger and embarrassment. How the hell am I supposed to walk around school? People are going to think I'm a slut!

"Del, I'm so sorry," Ashley says

The bell rings and it feels like I can't move, or breathe.

I somehow make it to my class. Everyone was looking at me in the halls. The asshole boys making sultry faces and noises. The girls looked at me in disgust. I felt so angry. I couldn't even remember what the argument was about.
