(listening to the infestissumam album as i'm writing this 🤭)
as you made your way to the source of the sound, you saw more people. they were all dressed in black and had an impeccable fashion taste, just like how your grandmother would describe them. there were also nuns, which you were pretty sure were called 'sisters of sin'. pretty badass name, if you ask me.
you could finally see the church clearly-- and it was beautiful. it was like nothing you have ever seen before, like something out of a fantasy. it had muted colors and looked very old, but kept well. there were towers with varying sizes and intricate details, along with stained glass windows. and the main building? oh, the main building was absolutely gorgeous. it had a massive circular window with flower petal-like shapes, and three entrances below it, containing three beautiful arches with
upside-down crosses on the very top.you could hear eerie music playing from inside as you entered the church right after the coast was clear, you didn't wanna get any unwanted attention, you just wanted to observe their routine.
the room was filled, and the interior was breathtaking, matching its exterior. the people were all sitting on equally beautiful pews, decorated with dark roses, black baccara, to be specific. you've gotten quite well at identifying different types of roses, or flowers in general, due to your job as a florist.
you took a seat at one of the pews in the middle row, because you wanted to see the band well enough but also because you didn't wanna rise any suspicion. you could see the band playing a song in the genre of metal, if you thought right. your parents always told you that it was the music of the devil, though it was just a music genre. but goodness gracious, the band members were hot. you weren't supposed to be thinking sinful thoughts, but oh my god, you just couldn't help but. the frontman had black makeup around his mismatched eyes and he was wearing red formal attire, with a patch on the left side of his torso. he was wearing gloves with a weird cross on it. it was the same as the ones outside, but it had what looked like a 'G', in the middle of the intersection. the sisters of sin were wearing them, too, and so were the band members.
your focus was stolen by one of their instrumentalists, their lead guitarist. they were all wearing black, also formal, attire and with silver masks cut directly on the mouth area. there were horns on top of their heads, all different sizes and shapes for each instrumentalist. but this one, in particular, had two horns facing inwards. you watched in awe as his hands flawlessly and swiftly moved through the whole solo, sliding against the strings and frets. you couldn't believe that you were watching this for free.
your body moved by itself. quickly and almost instinctively, you found a seat closer to the band to watch them clearer and to get a better look at the guitarist.
you were captivated by him. you couldn't stop watching. even when the song ended and the frontman started talking, you couldn't take your eyes off of the strange and mysterious man-- if he even was one. from your knowledge, you were pretty sure he was ghoul. your grandma told you that they were dark and misunderstood beings, used for being slaves before as they had a dark and violent past with humans, but now barely any people know how to summon one. it was unbelievable-- all of those things your grandma told you were true. a hundred percent true.
your brows furrowed when he turned away from you, making it hard to see him. until he suddenly turned around using his heel and made eye contact.
you could feel your cheeks heat up and your eyes were wide open, your heart was going a thousand beats per second, almost as if you had just ran a marathon. the ghoul tilts his head at you and you could see a faint smile forming his lips as his icy blue eyes were honed into yours. you couldn't fucking move.
he slowly lifts his hand in the air. his index, middle, and thumb finger were the only ones up as he draws the same cross in the air, blessing you with good luck.
but before you could react, he already was on the other side of the stage, playing a new song.
the beggining of the song startled you, but you soon started subconsciously rocking your leg and tapping your fingers with the music as the frontman started singing, followed by a keyboard. he was singing something about.. how i trust god? and.. dust? why was he singing about christians and dust? you didn't really know, but it sounded amazing.
you sat by for most of the song in peace, the keytar solo was amazing by the way, until the lead guitarist made his way in front of you once again. he did the same head-tilt-with-eye-contact thing, putting you in the same trance he put you in earlier.
but this time, he didn't hold back.
his right hand stayed on his guitar, quickly but effortlessly strumming to the music. he then lifted his left hand and put it to his mouth, licking a stripe from the bottom of his palm to the tip of his fingers all while making eye contact, before running his hand down to his neck, reeling his head back, to his chest, his hand was getting lower, and lower, and lower. he finally finished when the frontman started singing about god again, perfectly timing it with the drums and the frontman's voice, who you now knew was called cardinal copia because of the people beside you.
you honestly didn't know how to react. it all went so fast, but for some reason, even if you weren't supposed to, wanted him to do it over, and over, and over again. why did you feel like this? you had no idea, you've never felt this way before. and no, it wasn't love. though you've never been in love before, your mother described how it felt to you once, and this was most definitely not how she described it to feel. it was love with a mix of something else. you felt weird, you had this weird sensation growing in your heart and.. well.. jesus christ. you were now sure you were going to be sent to hell.
after the song ended and after processing what had just happened, you decided to check your phone for the time, and shit, it was filled with notifications from your mother.
you hurriedly put your phone in your bag while you speed-walk the hell out of there, your once sinful thoughts were replaced with racing scenarios on how your mother would scold you.
everyone started standing up after the end of the song and you began walking faster to the large doors when you saw the familiar ghoul making his way to you, pushing his way through the crowd and swiftly avoiding the people trying to talk to him. you made eye contact for another second, before you left and immediately shut the door behind you. what the fuck was that? holy shit.
