"Sure" he said. "It'll be fun" he said.

We waited for the metro for 20 minutes and San said that he wanted to meet Wooyoung's parents in the middle of ride. I told him that Seonghwa wouldn't be able to stay out for that long as Seonghwa could've gotten restless. He was just a kid after all. He was your kid, your lil blob of flesh.

Wooyoung's parents lived on the coastal side of ESS. It would've taken 2 hours by train to reach there and was totally not feasible for Seonghwa. I didn't even bring snacks that he could eat. He would've definitely gotten cranky without eating that long. But also, he wasn't fully human.... maybe he wouldn't be cranky but you didn't want to take chances with him.

You reached the clinic Mingi worked in. It was a public clinic and it was small. There were only 4 or 5 doctors along with a few nurses. He was wearing his doctor coat and you wouldn't deny that he looked hot. He was waiting outside the consultancy room. Jongho was the reciptionist.

"You work here?" asked a shocked San.

"How do you think I was giving you tips. Anyways that's his room. We don't get many patients."

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why aren't there many patients?" I asked.

"That's cause we're mostly fresh outta med school kinda students and it's government run. Despite it being cheaper the people don't trust us so mostly we rely on epidemics and college students."

"How long are you planning to talk there?" Mingi said leaning on the wall.

He was so good looking. You wanted to have him in your arms. You wanted to be cuddled by his muscular arms. You wanted to be covered by his broad chest. You wanted to play with his pink highlights. Your feelings for him were very much still there. How long were you planning to hide them?

"Dr. Mingi, as Jongho might've briefed you, San is pregnant." he said as he took a seat.

"Hmm I heard. If you want the child to be recognised you'll need to do some paperwork for him." he said while turning some pages.

"The results from yesterday's blood test is this." he turned the file to face Wooyoung. "All results are normal but he's going to need more nutrition. Refrain for fast foods and junk in general unless he's not eaten for hours. No soda on an empty stomach." he instructed but your focus was on the way talked. He gently adjusted his glasses and talked about having enough calcium and haemoglobin.

"4 meals a day, early morning around before 9am, then one at 1pm, one at 5pm and one more at around 9pm. I'm not sure what you portion size is but the ones at 9am and 1pm should be heavy, the latter can be lighter. No fasting, keep yourself hydrated-"

"Isn't this a lot for 9 months?" asked Seonghwa.

"Well..... the thing is.... San isn't really human is he now? It's not 9 months of pregnancy. More like 3 months? I still need to do an ultrasound since I only did hormone and fluid related tests yesterday."

They nodded to whatever Mingi was saying. Pregnancy sure was complicated.

"Also one more thing, after the delivery he'll be like a normal human. I've tried researching on this before but I never really understood how pregnancy makes them like real humans." he turned to San and said, "It's going to get tougher now San." at which San put his lips to a thin line but he was still cheerful in a sense.

"So I get to be be human?" San asked.

"Well you're more than a human now... but yes, you'll be a human soon. Wooyoung, have you talked to your parents?"

"Not yet doctor."

"You should. It'll make the paperwork easier if you got legally married, for the kid that is. If you were in mainland ESS this would be easier but of course the government would want to give privileges to them. It's a little harder but at least legal." he said writing down some medicine names.

"You're pretty" you let your intrusive thoughts take over.

"What?" Now the room's entire attention was at you.

"I mean your hand writing is pretty for a doctor. I've always heard and seen that most doctors have an ugly handwriting. I guess you're an exception."

"OH" he gave a deep chuckle. It was so attractive you wanted to wanted to melt.
"Thanks." he smiled. "Now let's check the little one shall we?"

Seonghwa walked up to Mingi but he seemed a little hesitant. He held your leg and hid behind you.

Funny how these things were designed as man power for the war. This lil blob of flesh could kill and for all you knew you wouldn't even believe it. He seemed so innocent, so fragile in your eyes, he could never be a machine of war. You wouldn't let him be one.

"Don't be shy, uncle Mingi has strawberry milk."

"Strawberry milk!" Seonghwa jumped out of your personal space. He made an effort to climb and sit on the chair that Wooyoung was sitting on.

"Hello Doctor!" he said trying to be firm.

Mingi took a torch and asked Seonghwa to open his eyes wide he coordinated. Then his ears, then his heartbeat. He checked his height and weight as well. You know, regular check up stuff.

After checking Seonghwa up, he grabbed a tetrapack of strawberry milk and gave it to Seonghwa. Impressed and confused Seonghwa looked at you, his eyes asking for permission. You nodded at which he accepted the strawberry milk and wound his fingers like it was his first love that he'd never forget.

Speaking of first crushes you told Wooyoung to keep Seonghwa company while you had to do some discussing with Mingi. You had to get it off your chest. Everytime you saw him you felt a little chained. You wanted to love him openly now. No more hiding. You were ready let your guard again, the way you did with her but this time, the ending would be different. There wouldn't be an ending you hoped.

"I had a crush on you when I was little. By that I mean like 5th grade or something. Now I-" you confessed.

"I'm still single you know." Mingi smiled.

"Oh no I didn't mean- wait you're interested?"
"Sure it's a 7 year age gap but we're both responsible adults right?" He made a point. "Plus no one really likes me you know."
"That's not true. There were many of us lining up to see you do archery."
"Did you stalk me?" He raised an eyebrow.
"No! I just happened to have free time."

He chuckled at you getting all flustered trying to defend yourself. You sounded like a fool right now. You sounded desperate and you hated that. This was the first time you made

"I was pulling your leg." He laughed heartily this time. He was having fun.

"Don't mock me." It came out a bit more high pitched than you thought.

Mingi bent a little to match your eye level and you gulped at the sudden proximity.

"Hey-"
"Don't worry, I'm just seeing your eyes. Not planning anything steamy."
"I didn't-"
"You have really pretty eyes." he said still in your personal space.
"Thanks doc-" you blushed at the complement.
"Mingi, call me Mingi." He said returning to his full length.
