"I want you to break up with him" said Seonghwa.

"You're being impractical" you replied.

"Am I?"

"It's just your hormones spiking up reactions-"

"No, you always tell me you'll tell me when I grow up but in the end you never tell me"

"Hwa-"

"Is something wrong?" Wooyoung entered with a juice box in his hand.

"Ah it's nothing"

Like that Seonghwa dismissed it. He didn't talk to you that often anymore. That made you realise something. As children, we share everything with our parents but as we grow older we learn to lie, to keep secrets.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Mid July 2044

After taking the documents and verifying them, Seonghwa was now finally ready for college. You managed to get the forged documents to enrol him. Despite the sudden roughness in your relationship things were going smoothly. You were to meet Mingi after dropping getting Seonghwa back home that night. You lent Seonghwa your oversized shirt and a pair of jeans thought he needed a belt for his tiny waist.

College was not what Seonghwa expected it to be. He was in a government college. He was doing a dance major. He was deeply interested in dance. He was amazed that you actually used all the money from promotion for his college fees. He felt bad for asking too much from you. Maybe he wasn't supposed to feel bad.

He did nothing wrong. Mingi suddenly started giving different vibes and Seonghwa could figure out. Ever since Seonghwa became an adult Mingi started avoiding meeting you for personal reasons. He was convinced Mingi wanted him to third wheel every time you were together.

Anyways, back to college. He wasn't that fond of the atmosphere. Many of them were cocky and kept avoiding Seonghwa because he was an orphan, or more like he didn't have defined parents despite having a father figure, you. Seonghwa had his own phone now. It wasn't a brand new one but he understood that you were trying your best. Last week, you told your parents about having a new roommate, Seonghwa, but you did not talk about how you raised him. You did say that you were paying for his college fees with an excuse which you would not disclose.

Seonghwa was happy but he felt something change, not in you but rather his surroundings. The world was not a pretty place as he thought it was. You had let Seonghwa see only the good part of the world and that message was made very clear with the people he had met.

"Ooo, look at that jawline- it's magnificent!" a dude spoke unbeknownst to Seonghwa. Seonghwa turned his head around and the boy motioned him to remove his earphones.

"You're really pretty you know" he said.

"Oh... thank you" Seonghwa replied with a sweet smile.

"Oh, don't thank me. I don't know if you know me, but when I'm around, no one is allowed to be prettier than me."

"Just because I'm good looking doesn't mean that I'm better looking than you. Plus why should it matter to you?"

"Why it matter to me? Huh?" the boy grit his teeth. "I'm the only one allowed to distract people-"

"Am I distracting you?"

"Huh" the boy gulped.

"Am I distracting you?" Seonghwa repeated with politeness lacing his voice.
