I found Chris on my room at the Manor.

He was on my bathroom.

I leaned against the door, watching him.

"Warlock?" Chris questioned.

"A woman with a bird symbol" I said, raising my eyebrows. "Can we not lie to each other? Please? I know it was Bianca and she hurt you"

Chris turned to face me. "You wouldn't let a warlock get that close to you" he said, searching my eyes. I lowered them. "Bree. Talk to me"

"Jake's not good anymore" I said softly. "He showed up and told me about Bianca"

"After he stabbed you" Chris said angrily.

"I'm fine" I lied.

Chris turned away from me, looking at himself in the mirror, "You do remember that somehow, you indeed became my charge since we arrived here, right? I can sense you. And I can sense you're hurting. Leo didn't heal you completely, did he?"

I stepped closer, both of us staring at our reflections in the mirror.

I lifted my shirt. The side Jake stabbed was red, dark veins spreading outwards from the stab wound. I swallowed in sadness and pain, closing my eyes as I let go of my shirt, letting it fall down.

I felt Chris grab my hand, squeezing. I opened my eyes. Chris pulled down his shirt, revealing a large wound on his chest.

I sucked in a deep breath, meeting Chris' eyes, both of our eyes were misty.

I could feel his heartbreak as he pulled out a ring. His engagement ring.

I touched my heart, voice trembling. "I hate being a cupid sometimes"

"I know" Chris murmured, eyes on his ring before he shoved it to his pocket. "We're going to be okay"

I laughed bitterly, "After my guy best friend tried to strip me from my powers and my girl best friend tried to kill you? Makes me regret having given her my blessing"

Future - Flashback

My hand was wrapped around Jake's as I beamed us out to the park Chris and Bianca were expecting us.

Jake let go of my hand. "I wish I could do something like that" he murmured, lips pulling out in a pout.

I giggled, shaking my head, walking through the destroyed parts of the park. "Do you know how many times I've had to drink that cloaking potion so no demon detects my beaming? It's a pain in the ass. Sometimes I wish I was in the cupid island with dad and Pey"

Jake nudged my arm, making me look at him. "I don't mind supplying you with all those potions. I prefer you having you around than locked up in the cupid island"

"And I still wonder why he doesn't make a move" I heard Bianca's amused voice from within some broken down bushes.

Pink flushed my cheeks and I shook my head.

Jake laughed awkwardly, "One guy can only handle so many rejections before he stops trying"

I sensed something in the air. "But someone already made the next big step in the relationship?!"

"Told you we wouldn't be able to hide it from her" Chris replied, chuckling as he and Bianca walked out to meet us.

I squealed, jumping into Bianca's arms, "Show me!"

Bianca laughed, raising her hand, showing me her engagement ring. "I know you didn't coach him into proposing because it wasn't a very romantic proposal"
