- 22 years in the Future -"We gotta work fast" I mumbled under my breath, knowing very well Chris listened to me. Our hearing was trained for the last few years to pick up even the faintest drop of water
"I gotta work fast" Chris corrected, giving me a look. "You're gonna stay here with Bianca and hope neither of you gets caught"
Using telekinesis, Chris flickered his fingers toward the flying magical scanner, making it start checking the living room.
"Hell no" I snapped quietly, making my way over the stairs of the place I used to call home, "We're in this together, Chris. It was also my idea"
"Which I'm very glad as I have someone with a still functioning brain" I smacked his head upside down, making him hiss "But it's dangerous. I can't let anything happen to you, Bree"
My eyes softened before I shook my head, "Wether or not you're not letting anything bad happen to me, you know nothing else can be worse than what I've already went through" Chris stayed quiet, sighing one more time before we reached the attic.
We scanned the room tensely, exchanging a look as Chris took long strides toward a gigantic book labeled the Book of Shadows.
"The spell must be here" Chris said flipping the pages of the book making me frown as I walked to him standing next to him. "Help me up"
I focused, bringing my palm toward the book a few inches away from it, watching the soft glow glimmering through the pages as I concentrated. Suddenly the pages started to flip by themselves until they stopped in a certain page. I brought my hand down, immediately stumbling back. Chris, having expected the action steadied me, placing his hands on my arms, giving me a worried look "Wow, sorry. I still can't get use to so many info"
Chris sighed, rolling his eyes "Glad to know you're okay" he murmured before returning his gaze back to the spell
A thud sounding from downstairs froze us. I looked up, fearfully meeting Chris' calm look. "We knew this was going to happen" he reminded me. I nodded shakily. He gave me a chalk, pointing at the wall. I nodded, quickly drawing a symbol on the wall that would be useful for our portal.
"CHRIS!"
I gasped, meeting Chris gaze over my shoulder "Keep going" He said, scribbling down the spell and ripping away the page from the book
I stepped back, giving Chris space as he stood next to me, staring at the wall.
"BREE! I know you're around here as well! Show yourselves"
Chris seemed more worried about me, hearing his voice calling to me. That was dangerous
"There's no time!" I exclaimed, shaking his shoulder "Hurry yo ass!"
"No!" Chris snapped, looking back at me. "I can't do it with you"
"There's no time to be all protective with me, Christopher!" I snapped back. "Chant the damn spell before I do it myself!"
Chris pursed his lips for a second before looking down and starting to chant the spell, my curious and fearful eyes watching the symbol's outlines starting to shine and suddenly the portal toward the past opening in front of our own eyes.
I intertwined my fingers with Chris, both of us not saying a word as we ran toward the past.
This was it.
Our only chance to save our future.
