Anneliese watched her cousin with a careful eye. Despite only being five, she had already learned how to watch situations from her parents, pick up the small things no one else did. And right now she didn't like the way a certain group of boys were interacting with her older cousin. She, her brother and all of her cousins were playing with some other kids by a park close to her uncle's house, in the town her uncles and aunts grew up in.
"What's wrong Lissy?" Alessandro asks, picking up on the change in his twin's mood.
"They don't look like they are being too nice to Penny." Penelope Taylor was Crew's third born and only daughter. She had two older brothers and one younger. She was two years older than the twins.
Alessandro watched the scene the same way his sister did but didn't quite see the things she was, but he trusted her calls and was ready to act as back up for her. The two left their older cousins without so much as an explanation coming up, being the group of boys surrounding their cousin from behind, slowly without making a sound. Anneliese straightened up and Alessandro's small hands turned into fists, hearing the way these people spoke to their cousin.
"Would you like to repeat that?" Anneliese asked, her bright blue eyes trained innocently on the group.
Penelope's eyes widened, seeing her little cousins there. They were a lot smaller than the boys and could easily get hurt. The boys weren't doing anything wrong were they, after all, when she told her teacher she was told one of them had a crush on her. Her panicked gaze met Alessandro who sent her a small grin and an easy wink that none of the other's had caught before he faced the boys, an identical look to his sister's covering his face. The two might not have been identical, but they were pretty damn close.
"I said who even cuts their hair like that, it looks like it got run over by a tractor." The ringleader of the group steps closer to the five-year-olds. He was a bit taller, but what the two lacked in height they made up for in training, after all they had been training in martial arts since they could walk. "And what are you twerps doing here? We can crush you with our pinky finger."
That made the other boys go rowdy like they were at a football match or something. The twins shared a brief look, both of them thinking the exact same thing 'where did these people learn their manners from.' The mother wouldn't stand for them behaving like this, she had always taught them the importance of impressions and how it affects you for the rest of your life.
"I highly doubt that." Alessandro shrugged easily, staring at the other's like they were nothing more than annoyances.
"What are you doing here anyway, looking for your baby bottles?" The boy standing next to the ringleader teases mockingly.
