Auriella-7
"Good morning sunshine," Azariah cooed at the little girl, brushing the curls out of her face. "Can I see those pretty eyes, mon amour?"
Opening her ocean eyes the seven-year-old smiles sleepily at the man in front of her
"There's my girl." He softly speaks, lifting her off her bed and carrying her to her bathroom. Instead of replying the young girl just buries herself further into the man's hold.
It had been about a month since the raid on Ceren Nox's place where Azariah and his best friend Adriano had rescued a group of people ranging from children to teens to adults. From the group only two didn't have homes to go to. Azariah and Adriano fell in love with the little angels and decided to take them in. Now a month later Azariah was getting Auriella, formerly known as Everleigh, ready to go to court to finalise her adoption.
"Start brushing your teeth while I run you a bath, my love." The young girl nods and starts doing what she was told. While Azariah opens the bath water adding bubbles to help her feel more comfortable.
"I'm just outside the door, if you need any help I will be here in a minute, okay?" At her affirmation he makes his way out the door, not closing it fully so the small girl knew she could hear him. He moved efficiently around her room choosing her out an outfit and tidying the minimal mess around her room.
Azariah was still getting used to the whole father thing, it had only been a couple weeks but both kids had made an immense improvement and both males were going above and beyond to help them acclimate to the change seamlessly. So far both kids were breaking out of their shell, just a little bit, but slowly Azariah and Adriano were becoming a lifeline for the children, so they didn't only need to rely on each other.
But this period was by no means easy. Azariah and Adriano both had no parenting experience and were the youngest out of their siblings, it didn't help that their job had not let them spend much time with their nephews, nieces as well in Adriano's case when they were growing up as they were at training camps or on missions most of the time. But this challenge was welcomed, they had learnt how to brush long hair, feeding kids on time so that they don't starve, making sure their every need is met and catered for. But both men were trying their absolute hardest to be the best fathers' they possibly could be, the fathers they promised to be.
Auriella steps out of the bathroom, covered in a white, fluffy towel that almost buried the child. "I have left clothes for you on the bed, mon amour, get dressed and call me to help you with your hair, okay?" (My love)
Auriella got dressed in a beautiful, white summer dress Azariah had got for her when they had gone shopping, a few days after they had been rescued. Alexander and Auriella had nothing but the tattered and torn clothes on their back when they were rescued, even those extremely too small for them even though they were tiny for their ages, Auriella looked five at seven and a half and Alexander could just pass for a small seven year old at eight. The small brunette was still getting used to having new clothes that actually fitted and running hot water to get herself clean. Auriella was getting used to having someone stick around that wasn't Alexander, there had been other children they had been friends they had made that had disappeared when she woke up one day and adults that are one day teaching her maths or english, or their native languages then the next they are just gone, but Ella wasn't naïve, she knew what had happened to the missing people, she knew what type of environment she had grown up in, even if it was all she had ever known.
