"You talked to Potter about Lily? Are you out of your mind!" Liz harshly whispered to her while the three ravenclaws sat in potions.

Shrugging, Lorelei ran the quill over the parchment in sync with the professor, "It went well actually." She whispered back.

Liz raised a brow and copied the notes onto her parchment as well, "You mean he didn't slam the door in your face?"

"No, actually. I think it was the shock of me being the person at his door that kept it that way though."

Slughorn, busy writing notes on the board, hadn't noticed the quiet interaction.

Shaking her head, Liz replied, "Have you taken any felix felicis, lately? Because you're so unfairly lucky."

A smile planted itself on Lorelei's face as Slughorn finished his notes, "Next week we will be attempting to brew Befuddlement Draught." He closed the book on his desk that he'd been copying notes from, "Class dismissed."

Slughorn had a routine of letting the students out of class early, but no one ever questioned him about it.

After their next few classes, the girls reunited at the great hall for lunch. "I just met a unicorn." Liz gloated as the trio sat down.

"And you didn't take a photograph?" Melissa asked.

Pulling a moving image from her pocket, she handed it over. In the image, Liz was surrounded by the other students in her Care Of Magical Creatures class but the students were all standing around a unicorn who's aura shone through the picture.

Groaning, Melissa handed the photo back, "Not fair, I want to meet a unicorn!"

"Then you should've taken Care Of Magical Creatures." Liz said delicately.

"Byrd!"

Confused, Lorelei looked around. The voice that called her was distinctly male, and men didn't usually call out to her.

Eventually, she made eye contact with the man approaching her, "Potter?" She called back, uncertain.

Walking up to her, stopping just short of an arms length away, he answered sincerely, "I don't believe I ever properly thanked you for the other day. So, thank you."

Liz and Melissa moved just out of earshot so they could start whispering with one another.

Her response was coated in confusion, "You're welcome, I suppose."

"The guys and I were thinking of going to the black lake again today, you and any of your friends are welcome to join us." He smiled.

Nodding, she answered, "Okay. I'll see if they want to come."

Giving a flat smile, James started walking away, giving a small wave as he did so.

Turning back to her friends, "That was odd."
