Elvis was to ship off in just a few days so he was taking all the time he could to spend time with his family. Anita was needed around mainly to keep rumors from flying but she didn't need to know that. All that mattered was you were with Elvis and that he was with you and you both wouldn't have it any other way. "Wittle, I got an idea. I wanna go see that new Gary Cooper movie." Elvis said smiling like a little kid eager to be taken to a candy shop. "E, you know we can't. Plus you'll get us mobbed." You say. "How bout I call Anita. She can be our cover. I wanted to get her a 'sorry I'm a leavin, cheatin soldier' gift anyways." You both busted into laughter on the floor in the living room. His feet were propped up on his new baby grand piano stool. "I dunno. I think I need more convincin." You smile slyly. He rolls his eyes and gives you a smirk. "Oh I can convince my wittle darlin to do anything." He said in his southern drawl making your stomach tingle. He rolls around dropping his legs and army crawls until he's practically on top of you. "See, I dunno why they got me goin to army trainin. I already know the damn moves." He chuckled. You smiled. At times he acted like the annoying boy you grew up with, but he had many moments lately where you could tell he was turning into a full grown man. You stroked his hair lightly with your fingertips. "Mmm." He closed his eyes and lowered himself on top of you. He was heavy but just heavy enough to stand the weight of holding him there. "I dunno what I'm gonna do without you and for God knows how long." He said and lifted his head to meet your eyes. "We've been through so much already E. I'm sure we can handle this. Besides, I'll be here to keep your mama company." You say. He nods. "She needs someone. She needs you." He said, knowing his mama was already a ball of stress with the impending draft date coming so soon. "I will be." You say. He lifts his hand and strokes your cheek. "Y/n." He says softly and leans in, kissing you soft and tenderly. His lips are inviting and plush against your. You hold him, arms wrapped around his back. The kiss deepened into something more passionate than before. His hands grasped your blouse tightly. You felt something unfamiliar and hard against your thigh and he raised himself slightly and then pulled back, crouching into a ball but keeping his eyes on you, breathing heavily. "You do things to me darlin." He chuckled, a slight blush running across his cheeks. You took a few deep breaths and adjusted your pants and blouse. Elvis finally stood up and took in a deep breath, smiling widely. "Let's go to that movie then, huh?" He said with a wink.

He promised, as soon as he picked out a car then you would both find an excuse to leave Anita, but you rolled your eyes at the thought of her deserving a car as a goodbye, break up gift. She stood the whole time on his arm, going from car to car. "Get whatever you want baby." He said. Anita would giggle and admire the color of each car, giving him kisses and holding his hand throughout the time there. You had to be the one to take the photos, as always and as much as you hated it. But what no one would ever know was the real Elvis steady was behind the lens.

You finally had the opportunity to leave amd made your way to the local theater. Elvis was careful to drive you around the backside of the building. "I know the guy, he'll let us in." Elvis said smiling and went around to open your door. As you got out, as if on cue, the door opened with a small male usher standing, propping the door open with his foot. "Cmon!" He whisper hollered and we quickly made our way inside, ensuring that no one spotted Elvis. "Thanks Danny. I owe ya one!" Elvis said, shaking his hand and led the way to the theater down the dim hallway. You walked in, the screen already playing the opening credits and made your way until you were seated at the very back corner of the theater. "So...did Anita end up thanking you for her car?" You teased slightly, but jnew a hint of jealousy was in your words. "Sure, but I told her I was interested in someone else." Elvis said with a smile. His white teeth provided light enough in thw dark theater. "Oh, sure sure." You teased and giggled. He looked over at you, still smiling and then dropp3d his eyes and then looked at you again. "Why are you so far from me wittle? Cmere." Elvis whispered and adjusted himself until you were practically in his lap, his arm around you, holding you tightly. "I wouldn't spend my last days stateside with anyone but you darlin." He said. You sat, kissed, talked, and watched the movie. Savoring the time left you had with your best friend.
