A/N: My apologies for the shorter chapter and the long wait. I'll update a much longer chapter tomorrow :)

Y/n Pov:

I open my eyes as a light breeze brushes against my face, seeing the leaves above flutter around in the wind. Sitting up I fixed my gaze towards the black lake. A soft sigh leaves my lips as I thought about my first time arriving at Hogwarts.

"I never knew the trouble I was getting myself into back then" I thought out loud.

It had been a few years since then, time went by too fast for my liking as I'm now in my 5th year.. I thought it was crazy and it seemed like I was 11 just yesterday. But no, I'm now 15.

Each year at Hogwarts I never seemed to be able to catch a break. During my first two years we were attacked by a Basilisk and a Troll. People began to escape from Azkaban on my 3rd and on my 4th a friend of mine, Cedric, died from the dark lord. Each year the energy darkened and people grew restless. The castle doesn't feel magical, I hate having to watch my back everyday.

My fingers ran through the grass beneath me as I thought about my friends. I'd say I'm relatively popular, I know a few people from every house. Though being picked on and bullied wasn't uncommon for everyone. Well, except for Malfoy and his posse. Nobody dared to mess around with them except for Potter. Draco and I were mutuals, we never really got that much closer but we are on a first name basis. I like to think that's just his father forcing him to be nice to me at least.

'I wonder what awful thing this year has to offer' I thought as I pulled out some taffy from my pocket. I usually keep some on my person, chewing something sweet always keeps me calm. I know I struggle with anxiety, which is fine, but damn can it be inconvenient when I'm just trying to think.

I lay back as my arms supported me from being flat on the ground as my legs crossed, it was a calm Friday night as I watched the sun slowly fall over the lake. When nothing terrible was going on the school was incredibly peaceful and even beautiful. White puffy clouds drifted across the orange and pink sky. I stayed there alone until the sun completely set. I was able to pry myself in from the grass to go back to my common room. It was only the beginning of the year and I could feel myself getting bored of this routine.

Walking through the halls past curfew was always eerie, I never liked the paintings watching my every move or having to worry about Filch and Mrs Norris. With each step I could feel myself getting tired and I dreaded walking down the large flights of stairs to the basements. But at last, I finally made it to the common room.

"Pure-blood" I said as a small wall opened up to let me through.

Walking in I spotted a large group of people on the couches, of course it was Draco and his gang. I never hung out with them since I enjoyed being with the Hufflepuff's more. I didn't pay attention to what they were talking about as I walked to my room.

"Hey, Travers! He was speaking to you!" Crabb and Goyle said in unison.

I turned around on my heels to face the group as I raised a brow before walking closer.

"I apologize, I was distracted. What's up?" I said in a tired and monotone voice.

Draco scoffed and repeated himself.
"Tomorrow there's going to be a party at the black lake in the late afternoon. Apparently everyone's going. Would you like to come with us?" He said in a slightly snappy tone.

I paused in confusion, I typically don't really get invited to stuff. More often than not it's  because I usually say no and enjoy being on my own but I thought that maybe, just maybe, it would be a good idea this time.

"Sure, I'll go. What time are we leaving and what should I wear?" I was intrigued.

"We are leaving at 6 pm and you should bring stuff to go swimming." He rolled his eyes before giving a soft smile.

Too tired to respond I just gave a thumbs up and walked back to my room. I changed into my pajamas and set out some stuff for tomorrow. A towel and trunks should be good, though maybe a sweater to keep myself covered through the day would be better. I picked my dark green and black sweater and placed it neatly with the rest of the pile. I put my wand under my pillow before flopping onto the bed. I couldn't sleep for a while, long enough for the other boys to walk into the room and get ready for bed.

But finally I felt my body get heavy and my head empty as I soon fell into a deep sleep.
