*Author's note - I was inspired to write this one as I was watching 'Uncoupled' on Netflix with Neil Patrick Harris. It's very good if you're looking for something good to watch*

"(Y/n), you'll have to get back out there sooner or later." Your friend explained to you after they invited you to a party and you kindly refused their offer. Since your recent break-up of a long-term relationship, the thought of going out and actually having any fun did not thrill you much. "The dating scene is waiting for you to return."
"What if I don't want to return?" You sulked, digging your spoon back into your tub of ice cream that you were definitely planning on finishing on your own.
"I swear to god, if I watch you take another mouthful of ice cream, I'll scream." Your friend muttered and watched as you threw the ice cream to the side. All of the anger and frustration that you felt was beginning to show, and the last thing that you wanted to do was scream at the one person who was helping you get through this hard time, but you also wanted someone to respect that you needed time to heal and to think. In the movies when someone gets dumped, they're allowed to wallow in their own self-pity, watch cheesy rom-coms and cry endlessly into tubs of ice cream; so why should it be any different for you? "What do you expect of me?" You asked, covering yourself back in your blanket. "It's not that easy for me to get back out there and find love. My relationship just ended." You stressed, before picking up your ice cream. "(E/n) will be out there again and chatting up someone, so why should you be the one that's depressed?"
"(E/n) left me, not the other way around." You scooped ice cream into your mouth. "I just need to be alone for a little bit, so no going out, no dating apps, and definitely no hookups."
"Okay, why don't we just go for one drink and see how you feel? If you want to leave, you can leave. If you want to stay, you can stay." You had to admit that you appreciated your friend offering you an ultimatum. "Come on! You can get a shower and dress up. It'll be fun." You discreetly tried to move your clothing and sniffed to see if you smelt; why else would your best friend be telling you to shower? In all fairness, it's probably been about three days since you jumped in the shower and allowed the hot water to consume you. You rolled your head slightly before you gave in. "Fine." You said, getting off of your bed and watching your friend smiling back at you with delight. "Great! You won't regret it, I promise." You proceeded to get yourself up, showered, and changed into something over than the comfy pyjamas that you'd spent the best part of the last week sitting in.
You arrived to the party and immediately felt overwhelmed by the number of people that were around. Everywhere you looked, you saw (E/n)'s face but you shook your head. You were determined to take your break-up out of your mind for the night and to have some fun. You and your friend ordered your desired drinks and stood chatting with one another. You couldn't help but admit that they were right and that it was doing you some good to get you out for a bit. Your friend waved at someone she knew. "I can't believe he's here!" She smiled, and you turned round to see who was walking over. Your eyes widen at the sight of the man as he approached you. "Benedict! I can't believe it's you!" Your friend smiled, hugging him. "Oh, this is my best friend, (Y/n)." Benedict shook your hand and greeted you. "I've had to drag (Y/n) out tonight before they've just been dumped." Benedict looked at you apologetically before he smiled. Oh god, that smile was enough to send you flying.
"Well, I'm glad you decided to come out." He admitted.
"Me too," You replied, unable to believe your luck.
