Exiled... Again

Everyone was out having a good ass time... I was stuck in the house getting things ready for this dinner party I was throwing for my dad and his friends.... Why they insisted on having it here, I couldn't say but I trust my dad and his decision making so I wouldn't question it. If I was being honest, I'd much rather be spending time with August; it had been a while since we just chilled without someone interrupting and I just wanted to..... Let's see; food, security, business plans, liquor... lots of liquor, cigars, and entertainment; yeah I wasn't entirely sure what kind of entertainment they would be interested in. It would be hella weird to get some strippers for my dad and 'uncles'... I would make a call and see what the best move would be but that was the last thing on my list and I would be ready for this party. I had people coming to clean the morning, and the party planners coming to set everything up that afternoon... There was a knock on the door and I walked to the foyer expecting someone to come back because they had forgotten something, I wasn't expecting my dad, Quran's mom, her new husband, and my little cousin Essence. I let them in and I glanced at my dad... which one would I be getting, my dad or my boss?

"Here hold her while I run to the bathroom." Aunt Rachel said handing me Essence as she darted towards the downstairs bathroom.

"It looks good in here, I was on my way to get your mom from the hair salon and figured I'd stop by and check on everything." My dad said. "Mind if I show Ethan around?" He asked and I shrugged, okay so he wasn't in boss mode which gave me a sigh of relief.

"Would you be upset if I beat up your big brother?" I asked Essence, who yawned at my question. "Don't get me wrong, I love the dude but he is the biggest c-block below the Mason Dixon... I just wanna be a hoe with my nigga, we both want to get slutted out by Beaux and your brother just refuses to allow us to be great. I might have to talk to Semaj about getting Quran outta town for a couple of days so I can be great." I said and Essence snuggled into my chest.

"What are you in here telling her?" My aunt said wiping her hands on a paper towel.

"Just how amazing her brother is, she's going to catch hell when she gets older because you know how Quran can get about the people that he loves but I'm sure Essence will be the one running the show." I said smirking.

"If you think Quran is bad you should see her other brothers Elijah and Emmanuel.... she really has them two under her spell, but I think you're right.... Sometimes I don't even get a chance to be a parent because the second she starts crying Quran knows exactly what she needs." Aunt Rachel said shaking her head. "Speaking of my son, where is he? I expected him to be here." She asked looking around.

"He went out with everyone... you know it's senior year so these last few weeks of school mean next to nothing.... everyone wanted to get ready for prom and stuff like that. What y'all got planned?" I asked trying not to think about prom because... yikes.

"Are you going to prom? Quran already told me that he was going with Semaj, but he didn't mention anything about you going." She asked and I shrugged. "Aww come on Jacobi, you should definitely go... when I tell you I had a blast at my prom, and your mom.... she showed her entire ass that night." Aunt Rachel said shaking her head and smiling.

"August is working that day and I can't think of anyone else I would rather be with on that night so I'm just not going to go.... I'm sure I'm not missing anything, besides the party I'm throwing that weekend will be a million times better." I said smiling. "Uhh... here, she's making a weird face and I don't wanna....." The smell hit me so hard I almost dropped her.

"Good you're back, here... change your daughter." Aunt Rachel said to Ethan. I noticed my dad giving me 'that' look so I passed Essence off and followed my dad into the office.
