*Adelina POV*
After a very long and pleasurable night - that had thankfully moved to Ezio's room- I had been up bright and early as I waited for Ezio and the others. Despite what Ezio had been trying to do I had made it clear to him that no matter what he did I was not staying here. Eventually he gave up but he made sure that the apple was on him and nowhere near me. The ride to Roma had been somewhat fun as we all travelled in one large group, each talking and sharing stories as the men were acting like men while Paola and I spoke. Most of the time though I stayed quiet as I listened in on their conversation. I did notice however that when I wasn't paying attention I could feel La Volpe's eyes on me but when I looked at him he had tried to avoid my gaze. I don't know what it was but this was odd.
Once we arrived in Roma we had all gone our separate ways and seeing as we weren't planning on staying long we had decided to not find an inn for the night. It had been a long time since I had seen the bustling city, seeing the coliseum towering over it in the distance as a reminder from the past. People had paid us no mind as we entered more focused on their daily life then anything that could possibly bother them. As much as I hated the city this is where most of our order had thrived and in a small way I could see the shreds of humanity that came here all bundled in a whirlwind of belief and ideologies. Currently Ezio and I had been just outside one of the walls that protected the Sistine Chapel, the river at our backs as we looked for a way up. Ezio didn't want me to join him for this part but I quickly reminded him what he was carrying and what I said I'd do.
Ezio had followed as I ran up one of the walls before kicking myself off and landing on a small wooden cover that had been attached to the wall where a stand would be. Once up, I turned and ran before jumping off and grabbing at one of the wooden posts that stuck out of the wall. Balancing in the beam I moved forwards as I jumped to the next one and followed it around before jumping on a free hanging piece of wood. The wood rocked a bit as the rope swung, balancing both Ezio and I's weight as we hung out in the air. Looking at the wall I had noticed a few pieces of rock that stuck out creating hand held slots for us to climb up. Bracing myself I lurched forwards up the platform and sailed to the wall. Once close enough I quickly grabbed the rock as my body slammed into the wall. I grunted a bit at the impact but began to climb up, my fingers and toes digging into the wall and the hand held rocks as they were the only thing holding me up. Ezio was close behind, keeping an eye on me so that I didn't fall but also using it as a way to go without falling himself. Climbing up the tower I had managed to pull myself into the beam holding the board we were just on before I jumped up above me and grabbed onto one of the broken ledges before moving to the side where the rest of it was. I gritted my teeth as I had done so before finally we reached the top ledge. Peeking over I had seen at least three guards. Nodding toward Ezio he went to the left as I went to the right. Positioning myself in front of the oblivious guard I reached up and grabbed him by the top of his armor and yanked him down, activating my blade as it pierced his chest, before throwing him over. Climbing up from the side my feet hit the ground as I had seen Ezio already up and standing over two men as he retracted his blades. Nodding slightly I had followed him over to the large black cast iron gate that separated us from the walkway in front of us, a few guards lingering around.
Unfortunately the guards had to go, they had a job to protect this Vatican and the Pope, and as much as I wanted to keep them from this all we had to use to get to Roderigo had been in their line of sight. We couldn't be stopped on this. I lifted the lever on the side of the wall next to the gate as we watched it go up. Once it was we had slipped through and into the next section. Two guards had walked around the small area as I could spot the gate for the next section. Ezio had quickly slipped forwards to take care of the guards as I made my way to the second level and pulled it up as the second one opened up and we continued on, up a small set of stairs and into a groups of guards. Before they could even blink or see we had been there Ezio and I had snuck up behind them and quietly put an end to them, climbing up on the bell tower once finished. Catching the corner of my eye I had seen someone moving quickly across one of the walls of the chapel.
