I curled up into Malik's side as we both laid on the makeshift bed, panting and naked, as his thumb gently traced over the scar on my stomach as my body ached in pleasure. Honestly I wasnt to sure how this had happened exactly, all I knew was that when I had gone out to talk with them after Madeleine left and Malik had immediately began to read me Syrian poetry. I knew with Ezio being my true mate now that I had no romantic feelings for anyone else but seeing as Malik and I had something between us in the past, I must have acted out on my past lives feelings, back when I was Aisha. Which led to this. Somehow. Both of us laid their as I felt his heart beat steadily, the silence a comfort. His new metal arm had been cold against my skin giving this feeling a whole new sensation. What was it like that far into the future? To have prosthetic limbs made of metal. Of course here nobody would know about prosthetics due to the fact only Egypt had them before disappearing after. I remembered that from my memories as Ani.
"Its been a long time since we've seen each other Aisha" Malik suddenly said as he peered down at me "I never fully got to say goodbye"
"And that was my fault" I answered, remembering how I had last left Malik and Altaïr, both worried for me as I jumped out a window on my near deathbed. I had been upset with them as they couldn't seem to stop fighting with one another. "I did what I thought was best, I couldn't stand to see you two fighting and I couldn't let Altair see I had loved him"
"It took me a long time to figure out why you had left but shortly after I realized why. I just wished we had gotten to you sooner before...." He started, remembering something horrible, the hurt in his eyes. It was pure horror. I felt something twist in my stomach "it was Abbas and a few other Templars who had you killed. He betrayed the creed to kill you and all because you had refused him and because of your gifts. Altair and I made them pay"
"It was my time to go, there was nothing you could have done. Every living thing must die in order for life to continue on"
"I know. You reminded me of that all the time" Malik said with a soft chuckle as I caught the scratch marks I had given him lingering all across his body "I can tell something is bothering you, what is it?"
"It's nothing" I answered as I brushed it off "Just thinking of some of the mistakes I've made"
"Surely they aren't that bad" He countered. I glanced up at him.
"If you don't count sleeping with your brother in law months before marrying your fiancee and getting pregnant with their child not a big mistake" I pointed out. I watched as his eyes widened at that, clearly not expecting what I said at all.
"Ohh" Malik said in realization, before looking down at me with a curious glance "Do you regret any of it?"
"I'm not to sure" I admitted honestly, still feeling conflicted about the whole thing. What I had done to Federico hadn't been right I had lied to him, slept with his brother behind his back more then once, and he deserved better then me but at the same time I had enjoyed those moments. Ezio had truly made me feel happy and special, or made me think so anyways "I know what I did was wrong, but at the same time it was when I felt happy"
"It doesn't sound like you regret it" He said simply before glancing down at my midsection once more as he eyed the scar. "Where did that come from? I don't mean to be insensitive but it's quite a nasty scar"
"When... When my Aunt's Orphanage was blown up, it killed her and my daughter. I was... to distracted with finding my daughter that I didn't see a man attack me and he managed to land a blow. I healed myself but the damage to my midsection was so severe it damaged my womb... I can't conceive anymore, and this scar will never heal fully. It is a reminder of what I've done and the consequences of my actions"
