The theory says that the universe was suddenly born and is finite, before this theory joined the party most of the scientists thought of universe to be infinite and ageless.
But soon after that Einstein came in clutch with his theory of relativity giving us a better idea about how gravity works, and then another scientists whose name was "something" discovered that galaxies are moving apart from each other in a way that satisfies previous predictions and theories. then finally cosmic background radiation was discovered, and no you just don't need to know what cosmic background radiation is because if i started explaining everything in detail it will take a whole book to explain the big bang.
Combining all this stuff made big bang a acceptable theory.
This was all about how "the big bang theory" was discovered.
Let's talk about what it suggests now .The big bang begins:-
At first of all big bang was not an explosion
It was just space streching into itself in all directions, the universe cannot expand into anything because it has no borders, which means u can't say that something is outside the universe because universe is all there is, ik it sounds wierd to hear for first time (≧▽≦)but don't worry you will catch up. (◍•ᴗ•◍)Space started expanding :-
The universe started with a very very very small size
And then quickly expanded into the size of a football
In this tiny space energy manifested itself into parties called gluons, gluons made quarks, quarks hitted each other giving off gluons again which gave back energy which again combined to make gluons and quarks, this shit continued for a while
here matter and energy had almost no difference and they were practically the same thing.
Now in this hot dense environment both matter and antimatter were born , fortunately matter won the war ᕙ( • ‿ • )ᕗ . today we are left with almost no anti matter.Formation of fundamental particles:-
By this time our lovely universe have streched to a billion kilometres in diameter causing a decrease in temperature and the cycle of quarks and gluons suddenly stops.
Now the quarks stated to form particles u might be familiar with, protons and neutrons.You will find it insane to know that till now only ONE second has passed since the space started expanding (°▽°).
First light:-Later on,the space expanded to 100 billion kilometres,the temperature have pretty much cooled down by now and the density of the environment as well ,allowing electrons ,protons and neutrons to form the form the first atom Hydrogen and other elements a few minutes later with a electrical neutrality ,this time period is also known as the "Dark age" because there were no stars or light,Later gravity pulled hydrogen together and formed stars
And our universe is finally lightened up (ʘᴗʘ).
We don't know everything actually :-
After all this
We still don't know how the big bang really started
Were there big bangs and universes before our one
We can't answer those questions for now because at the point of beginning of the big bang,our rules of phisics doesn't seem to work out,even time itself it messed up there
But that's what makes science intresting!!
There is always something new to discover ( ╹▽╹ ).This was it for the big bang.
