"IZUKU!" Johnny called into the night, worry etched onto his face. The One For All user had mysteriously disappeared, and he wasn't back in time for curfew. Johnny, in a fit of panic, had scrambled together the group to form a search party.
"Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse." Kyoka muttered.
"I'm sorry Kyoka..."
"No, it's fine." Kyoka stated, although it was painfully clear that she hadn't quite recovered from the incident with Kaminari earlier in the day. "Izuku's my friend...my mental health can wait."
"Under normal circumstances, that statement would give me a reason to be concerned." Momo said. "But Midoriya's life could be in danger, so I suppose it's acceptable for now."
"Stupid fucking Deku, dragging me out past my bedtime..." Bakugo was stewing. "He better be okay, I want to kill him MYSELF!"
"Do you want to know why I believed in him, despite him being quirkless?" Johnny asked the group, and all but one nodded. "It's because he was already a hero. There was this one moment in particular, when we were kids...I could never forget it, although I don't think he ever knew how important it was to me.
We were playing heroes on the playground, and Cummings came to pick me up. You see, You could tell when she was having a bad day because she would be EXTRA sweet, like, to the point where it's obvious it was fake. That's what she was doing, and Izuku knew I was going to have a rough rest of the day...so..." Johnny chuckled, clearly amused by the memory. "He made his stupid little All Might face, and just said: 'I'll be there.' Not 'I am here', but 'I'll be there.'"
"You knew he would be a hero...because he was already YOURS, right?" Gyro asked, and Johnny nodded. It became quite clear just how much the Joestar valued his childhood friend.
"We'll find him JoJo...he has to be okay, he just has to be." Momo consoled her friend.
Kyoka looked down at the ground as they continued walking down the street, passing by a couple of drunks. She was still pretty upset, and Izuku going missing not even three hours after than the Kaminari incident only added to that.
Then her earphone jacks picked up a set of footsteps that weren't there before. She turned her head, her tired and sore eyes scanning the area with vigilance.
"You good Kyoka?" Gyro asked, and Kyoka frowned. "I...I think someone was following us...maybe..."
"Everyone, remain on high alert."
"It could've been my imagination...I'm not exactly in peak condition at the moment..."
"Kyoka..." Johnny said, finally noticing the state she was in. He had been so preoccupied with Izuku, he had forgotten that his girlfriend wasn't emotionally stable. "Maybe...you should rest, have someone wait with you..."
"I'm finding Izuku." Kyoka shut him down. "I can cry again later...right now, he's more important. I won't rest until I do...you aren't the only one who cares about him."
"I know...it's just, you've already had a rough day, and...I'm worried about you too."
Kyoka reached out and grabbed Johnny's hand, and they began walking together. "I'll be fine with you."
"Can we stop talking about goopy shit and find Deku already?! I get it, the dumbass didn't respect your damn privacy, but that doesn't fucking matter right now." Bakugo said. "We can kill him later."
"Are you actually angry on her behalf?" Momo asked, taken aback.
"...a little bit, don't make a big deal about it."
