Samantha had just returned from her recent outing with friends. Upon arriving at her home's stairs, she felt low in her gut that something was off. She couldn't really pinpoint what exactly was wrong, but she could feel a lot of tension surrounding her home.
Samantha tried blaming it on paranoia but she knew very well that her gut was almost never, and today was one of those where she wished she wasn't. As Samantha entered the house, she noticed that it was scarily quiet.
As she walked passed some maids, she saw them whispering, but they immediately bowed their heads at the sight of her. So she demanded for them to tell her what's going on.
One spoke up and said "Your brother and your betrothed have been thrown into the dungeon ma'am". "What? By who?" Samantha said, raising her voice. "By your father. However no one knows why" The other maid answered in almost a hushed tone, still keeping their heads bowed. Samantha then let them go one their way, then rushed up to her parents' chamber, hoping that her father was there. Thankfully he was.
"Father" she said quite loudly to get his attention "Why have sent my brother and your friend's son to the dungeon?" she asked, though she probably knew the answer but wanted to hear it from her father first before confirming so. "Oh my daughter, I'm so sorry but...............your brother has been having something to do with your betrothed"
Now hearing it from her father, Samantha felt a little uneasy. However she still went along with what he said. "Uh m-my gosh, that's quite terrible" Samantha replied, pretending to be shocked, and avoiding any eye contact with her father.
"Once again, I'm sorry my daughter for not seeing this sooner, and to think I was going to let him marry. *shakes head* Don't worry, soon we will find you another man that you can get married too and this whole situation could become water under the bridge" Mr. Supamongkon reassured her (though; as we all know that this 'reassurance' is far from what she needs right now).
I don't know how my brother, your son's situation could just become water under the bridge but I'd like to see you try. Samantha thought to herself, almost shooting dagger at her father. For the most part however , she kept her composure while speaking to him.
In the meantime, Mr. and Mrs. Siraphop had come to bring their son back home, they have already been informed of what had happened. As they went down those stairs to the dungeon, they saw their son all battered up in cell like an animal.
In an instant, Mrs. Siraphop began to cry and asked "What have they done to you, what have they done to my son" being brought to tears at the sight of him (Net).
"I don't know what they've done to to you son but I can see as to why they did so." Mr. Siraphop chimed in, however so quick to defend their actions. "Fear not though. Once we get you out of this place, we will have you far away from that boy and whatever charms he cast upon you to act this way.". James was quite appalled by the accusations but not surprised. "And this entire situation could simply cease to exist" Mr. Siraphop had finally said.
However, Net looked to his parents' direction and uttered a clear "No" leaving everyone in the room surprised to say the least.
"No? NO? So you are willing to stay here being treated as less than stuck in a cage all day, than to come home with your own parents and be treated with all the respect that you do ever possibly deserve? And for what? him *pointing in James' direction*?" Mr. Siraphop practically yelled. James couldn't help but feel offended, though he did agree with Mr. Siraphop's point.
Net didn't say anything after that, but he gave a look that told his parents everything that they needed to hear. "Fine then, but surely you WILL come crawling back, begging to take to in again." Mr. Siraphop said, with his tone full of anger. Before they left however, Net's mother ran to his cell and got on her knees, practically begging at this point.
"Please my son, please come home. If not for your father then for me your mother. I know you love this boy very much, but is it worth risking your life like. Please my son, just come home with us. I don't want you to die here." She said, crying throughout, understandably. Net was almost convinced to just go, but he still stood his ground. So he quickly wiped away his tears and grasped unto his mother's hand, reassuring her that he'll be okay.
She then looked at her husband, her son, then James, and then finally looked back at her son once again and said "I hope you know what you're doing" in a hushed manner. She too then wiped her and headed home with husband, worried to death about what will happen to her son now.
Now it was James' turn to begin begging on Net's parents' behalf. "Your parents are right, you should go. You cannot stay just because of me and I can't become this rift between you and your parents. They already think I've charmed you. *sigh* I'm no 'damsel in distress' that needs to be looked after, I am a grown man after all".
Then Net began his own little speech. "We both know that you are no 'damsel in distress', but I still worry for you. Your own parents have you locked in a cell for crying out loud. I just don't want anything to happen to you".
James still wanted Net to go home as he didn't want anything else to happen to him. However he knows that Net wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
All James did now was roll his eyes and say "I hope you know what you're doing". I hope I know what I'm doing too. Net thought to himself.
Later in the night, both Net and James were fast asleep, when suddenly footsteps were heard descending down the stairs and a dim light was getting brighter by each step. James was a light sleeper so the footsteps and dim light woke him up.
As they finished the last step, James could see that the person was holding a lantern, but was yet to see the face of the person, though that mystery didn't last long as said person brought the lantern up to their face and said "Hey, it's me Samantha" in a hushed tone.
"Samantha? What are you doing here at this time of the night? " James asked, wincing from the bright light now so close to his face. That's when Net woke up too and began to ask "Hey, what's going on".
That's when Samantha revealed her mission here. "I'm here to get you guys out".
Author's Note: That's the update for today, sorry for the long wait. I've been quite busy these passed few days and haven't found much time to write this until today. With that being said, from now on I don't think that every chapter will take 1-2 days to be released. The next chapter however will be pretty sad so brace yourselves (I know I've said this a lot but I'm serious this time, I just didn't think it would take this much writing to get to that point).
