𝐀𝐓 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝟐:𝟓𝟗 𝐏𝐌, niki left his dorm, study bag in hand, while humming a happy tune to a happy feeling. he was convinced that he was now ten steps ahead to snatching sunoo's heart, while each day spent with the older was usually only one step in progress.
niki stepped into the library at 3:07, taking a moment to bask in the library's cool and refreshing air-conditioned atmosphere. he looked around for sunoo, a little confused as he wasn't there when he would usually arrive precisely at the time arranged.
nevertheless, niki knew it was normal and happened to everyone. he took the table they were at the last few library hangouts and took his astronomy book out to study.
at 3:55, niki got fed up. sunoo wasn't coming, and he had waited all this time for nothing. niki now deemed sunoo a jerk for standing him up, and decided he wasn't going to wait anymore. he grabbed all of his stuff and left the library in an angry manner. he was semi-stomping his way back to his dorm when something caught his eye. blond hair, sitting in a cafe. he stopped and turned just to be sure.
niki's heart cracked. and then it shattered.
sunoo was in there, talking and laughing it up with two people across from him whom he held by both of his hands. niki begged it not to be true, but if possible, his heart shattered even more. the trio had stood up, and the first male was now kissing sunoo's nose and his cheeks lightly.
niki was gaping, with tears in his eyes. the first boy he had ever dared to accept feelings for, already taken and happy. niki decided it was too much for his fragile heart to bear, and he ran. he ran back to his dorm, with no signs of stopping until he was safely behind closed doors.
'what the fuck... what the fuck.' niki repeated in his mind as he continued his sprint. he just had to get as far away as possible from sunoo.
it wasn't just sunoo ditching niki that broke his heart. no, niki had been late many times. it was that throughout their whole time of hanging out together, sunoo showed no sign of ever telling niki about his significant other. last night, they were even centimeters away from kissing. niki found that disgusting, how he was about to steal a kiss from a taken man..
niki panted as he slowed his running to a stop in front of his dorm room. and that was where he released his tears and cries. niki sobbed at the idea of losing a friendship with the one person he clicked so fast with. they were like puzzle pieces, who fit perfectly into each other's lives. but maybe sunoo wasn't the person niki imagined him out to be.
niki sat right in front of his door, publicly in the west dorm building's hallways for anyone to witness while crying. but in the middle of his waterworks, he got several messages.
