"𝐇𝐄𝐘! 𝐇𝐄𝐘, 𝐖𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐔𝐏!" niki awoke to the sound of someone yelling in his ear, the white sun shining in his eyes, and the same person shaking him.

he rubbed his eyes, trying to connect where he was, why he wasn't in the shelter of his soft and warm bed, or why sunoo was here with him. the random student let out a sigh of relief at the sight of niki finally waking up, and niki finally acknowledged the student.

"finally. i came up here to get my daily sun intake, and here you lot are, all cuddled up and sleeping on the concrete floor. do you know how dirty it is?" with the way this student was scolding him, you would think they'd have known niki for a few years.

"sorry. uh, who are you?" niki slowly got up, now crouching beside a still sleeping sunoo.

"oh, my name's daniel. i'm a sophomore. who're you two?"

"uh... i'm niki. he's sunoo." niki said bluntly, still tired from being awoken so suddenly.

"okay, niki. maybe you should wake him up."

"good idea."

niki looked down at sunoo and smiled. he then started shaking sunoo, quite harshly.

"sunoo! sunoo, wake up! come on!"

"mmm... i'm awake." mumbled sunoo.

"you have a class in five minutes!" niki yelled, deciding to lie. it worked.

"WHAT?" sunoo was up and running now. he stared at niki, squinting. "where are we?"

"we fell asleep on the roof last night. you don't actually have a class, but come on. it's hot." niki smiled cheekly.

"ugh, fuck you. who's he?" sunoo narrowed his eyes more, annoyed at yet another person for no reason.

"damien or something. he's a sophomore."

"my name's DANIEL." daniel said, offended.

"whatever. let's go, riki."

"bye, damien. see you around." niki half smiled, trudging behind a pissed sunoo.

"come on, don't be mad at me. how else was i supposed to wake you up?" niki whined, still following behind sunoo with a distance.

"by not yelling in my ear and giving me a heart attack." sunoo retorted, stopping as he was in front of his dorm now.

niki frowned. he then slid his arms around sunoo's upper body, back hugging him. "i'm sorry. don't be mad."

"why-why are you hugging me?" sunoo looked down at niki's hands around his body, blushing ever-so-slightly.

"i always hugged my sisters when they got upset, and they always calmed down. so i thought it would work with you." niki rested his chin on sunoo's shoulder, turning his head to look at him.

"okay, okay, shakespeare. i forgive you, let go of me!" sunoo whined, frantically trying to untangle niki's arms.

niki just laughed, watching as he took out his dorm card in a flustered manner.

"let's go study at the library together later. 3 pm?" niki offered.

"fine." was the last word sunoo said before closing the door, leaving niki alone in the hallway.

niki just scoffed playfully, now wondering where to go next.

     he walked outside sunoo's dorm building, planning to just wander around in the spring weather. he decided on the cherry path, named after the cherry blossom trees that bloom in the spring season and litter petals along the path.

"hey, niki!" niki heard his name being called behind him.

"jake? oh, hey. what's up?"

"hey man! how have you been?" jake asked with a grin.

"we literally saw each other last week." niki quirked his eyebrow amusingly.

"yeah, okay anyways! sunghoon and i are throwing a party at our dorm tomorrow. around 4? you should come!" jake jumped enthusiastically.

"oh, i don't know. i might be hanging out with someone."

jake widened his eyes slightly. "with who? niki, are you okay? i've never heard of any other friend than us!"

"oh, shut up! go away!" niki rolled his eyes.

"okay, okay. i'll just text you the details if you decide to come anyway."

niki shook his head, turning away to continue his walk along the path.

     sunoo lay in his bed, still shaken up and flustered at niki's sudden action. does he like me back? what was that just now? sunoo thought, his mind and heart jumping ecstatically. he replayed the hug in his mind, almost squealing at the thought.

'or, maybe he just felt bad. but he could also like me back.' sunoo wanted to think it was the latter.

then, he got a text.

it was from his siblings. they told him that their plane just landed and they would be at his campus at around 3. all of his thoughts about niki faded away in his excitement as he ecstatically agreed to meet. even the thought about their little study date faded away.
