"Are you ready?" Martin squeezes my hand as we sit side by side in the car.
"Nope. Are you?"
"Not in the slightest. Shall we do it anyway?"
I shrug. "Yeah, why not."
We grin at each other as we step out from either side of the car, him in his slick, black suit, and me in my smart, black, sparkly jumpsuit.
The cameras start flashing before we can even close the doors behind us.
"How does it feel to finally be done with the film?"
"What was the best part to film?"
"What was the worst part to film?"
"What are you working on next?"
"Martin, as a newly-married man, how has filming affected your home life?"
"Y/n, is it true you've split up with you chef boyfriend?"
"Any behind the scenes gossip you're willing to share with us?"
I jump slightly as I feel Martin's hand on the small of my back.
"It's ok, just smile and keep walking," he mutters to me through a well-forced grin.
I let out a small breathe and then plaster a smile on my face as we walk down the carpet, past the cameras and microphones, and I try desperately not to fall down on my shaky legs.
We manage to make it past the entrance and over to the main area where the cast are having photographs taken.
Johnny's there, with his hair a natural brown colour rather than white for once, with Jude, Eddie, Callum and Jamie and they're all dressed in smart suits of dark green, dark blue or black. Ezra is stood to one side, trying to battle with their..... outfit.
"Um," I nudge Martin gently, "What's Ezra wearing?"
"I know. I was thinking the same thing."
But we are definitely not thinking the same thing, at all. I'm looking at the outfit like it should be used to line a bin, and Martin's looking at it like it might disappear if he touches it.
He loves it.
"So, what is it?"
"Some sort of puffer coat dress, I remember they were telling me about it the other day. I think it's some sort of promotion outfit for Moncler and Valentino. Look y/n, it has a cape!"
"Okay, calm down Martini Man. They might let you borrow it if you ask nicely enough."
He turns to me with wide eyes. "Do you think they would?"
I roll my eyes with a small laugh.
Behind the guys, some of the girls are stood talking in a huddle. Carmen, Zoe, Victoria, Alison and Katherine are wearing long evening dresses. Some short sleeved, some long sleeved, but all the same sort of colours as the guys. Well, almost. Zoe stands out slightly more in her pink dress, but she doesn't seem to mind.
"Come on," he gently pulls me forward by the arm.
"Alright alright, I'm sure they'll get loads of pictures of you don't worry."
He grins, "Gotta make sure, you know?"
"Uh huh, sure."
I look over at the guys and see Jamie smiling at me.
"Um, I'll be back in a minute, I'm just gonna go talk to the boys a minute."
"Oh yeah? Any of them in particular?" Martin gives me a side-eye.
"Nope, just..... Over to the boys."
"Mhmm, if you say so. Guess I should be sociable and go see the ladies."
"You'll get a chance to ask Ezra about their outfit, don't you worry."
"Yeah I'd better do," he mutters to himself as he makes his way over to the girls.
I smooth my hands over my jumpsuit before going over to the guys, trying to appear calm and casual.
Sadly, my feet betray me and I stumble slightly, ankle twisting from the heels.
Two strong hands catch me before my face can meet the ground.
"Thanks," I say as I look up to his beautiful blue eyes.
"No problem, glad I've got you falling for me," Jamie says quietly to me with a subtle wink.
I try not to blush as I tuck my hair behind my ear.
Jude turns at my voice and moves outwards slightly to allow me into their huddle.
"Y/n! Lovely to see you, you look stunning," he leans forward and presses a gentle kiss to my cheek.
I can basically feel Jamie's glare next to me, but I try and discretely give him a look that indicates he needs to keep calm.
He can't be jealous, not now. We've agreed to keep us a secret for now and then, depending on how things go, then we might go public with it. But besides, Jude is just a close friend, so a kiss on the cheek isn't anything deep and meaningful.
"You too Jude, you look great! So do all of you actually. You look very smart."
"How are you feeling?" Johnny asks from behind his brown curtains.
"Nervous, excited, proud. A bit hysterical," I laugh nervously but he gives me a calming smile.
"You have nothing to be nervous about, this is going to be amazing."
"I don't know how you guys are so calm. I mean, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys, you've put in so much effort, I just hope the final cut will make you proud."
"Are you saying we should prepare ourselves for disappointment?" Eddie jokes.
"Well no, I, it's, uh-"
"He's messing with you, love," Jamie says to me, then freezes slightly.
I notice Jude giving him a funny look.
"Right Eddie..... love? You're messing with her."
"Jamie did you just call me love?"
He swallows. "Yes. Yes I did."
"I'll be your love," Johnny laughs and nudges Jamie.
He laughs slightly nervously, but the chatter continues and I think we're safe.
Callum glances at his watch and nods.
"Film starts in 5 minutes, should we go in?"
I nod quickly, glad for the distraction. "Yeah, we should take our seats."
The lights are dim in the theatre, but we all manage to find a place in the first few rows of seats. I've found myself placed between Jamie and Jude. Jamie's on the aisle seat, then me, then Jude. With a quick scan of the people around us, I see Martin in the seat behind Dan, not too far along the row, and he gives me a thumbs up.
Here we go, I guess.
