The following morning, harry Ron and the girls meet each other together in the infirmary. Checking on Hermione harry had brought her new flowers changing the ones already in the vase and taylor brought some chocolate frogs and some half eatened chocolates. " I sill cant believe you opened her chocolates Mia?!" Taylor exclaims annoyed. " I said I was sorry, I didn't know they were for Hermione" Mia wines holding her arms up. Delta " would you both shut it and be a little respectful for the ones in here" mia just looks at Delta up and down like 'your the one to talk', she just rolls her eyes and continues to work round to Hermoines bed. Harry takes out the flowers from the vase on the bedside table which were all rotting and dying away as he replaced them with the new ones. they all took a moment in silence as they looked upon their friend, she lay lifelessly still her right arm held up like she were holding something when the attack had happened. " we wish you were here Hermione, we need you...now more than ever" harry says silently his voice ringing with sadness. As harry held hermoines hand in his he felt something within her hand the others look puzzled to harry noticing his puzzled face "what is it?" Lynx asks. Harry picks up a piece of crumbled up paper as he un folded the mess looking at its context as he reads it to himself, he looks from the paper to Hermione " this is why Hermione was in the library the day she was attacked" they all look confused "well? what is it harry??" delta questioned. Harry abruptly stands up like he's realised something and begins to exit the infirmary " come on!" harry exclaims as the others confusedly get up to follow him matching his quickened pace.

As they follow harry round the corridors of Hogwarts he begins to read aloud the text on the parchment of paper to everyone "of the many fearsome beasts that roam our land, none is more deadly that the basilisk". "oh great, a giant snake" Delta mutters Taylor quickly looks to delta "a snake?!" Harry sighs in light frustration and continues reading "capable of living for hundreds of years, instant death awaits any who meet this giant serpents eye, spiders flee before it." Mia chimes in " wait so is that what's petrifying everyone? I mean I feel like people would see a giant snake roaming the halls right??" Harry interjects " don't you guys see this is it! the monster in the chamber of secrets is a basilisk." Mia stops in the hall as do the others " so the voices you and I have been hearing is parseltongue right? from the basilisk?" harry nods." wait back to what you said earlier Mia, if it kills by looking people in the eye, how is it no one is dead?" everyone falls silent momentarily thinking as Lynx begins to answer" because no one did look it in the eye. Well not directly at least" Lynx begins to walk again as so do the others " remember Collins saw it through his camera right? and Justin he must have seen the basilisk through nearly headless nick. nick got the full blast of it but he's a ghosts, he cant die again" Mia finishes her sentence " and Hermione she had her mirror, I bet you she was using it around corners in case it came along" Ron then adds as he stops again in the corridor " and Mrs. Norris? I'm pretty sure she didn't have a camera or a mirror?" "the water, there was water on the floor that night so she only saw the basilisks reflection" delta replied. Taylor gulped before adding her point " this all may be true but c'mon you guys! a giant snake?! in the corridors someone would have seen it!"

Harry then shows everyone the piece of paper from hermoines hand " hemione's answered that too" as everyone looks down at the paper the word 'pipes' written and underlined in ink." pipes? you mean he's using the damn pluming?!" delta exclaimed. "remember what aragog said about that girl 50 years ago?" Taylor says " girl I don't remember what I eat to seconds ago no I don't remember?!" Mia groaned. " well she died in a bathroom didn't she? and who do we know in this school who died in the bathroom..." Taylor strings the answer along trying to ring any bells. in sync they all go " moaning myrtle" as they go to head to the bathrooms an announcement rings out in the halls professor McGonagall is heard "all students are to return to their house dormitories at once. All teachers to the second floor corridor immediately." they all exchange a quick glance at one another knowing fine damn well they aint going to their dorms and beginning to head to the second floor corridor. As they get close to the corner scuffles and clacking of shoes on the floor are heard presumably all the teachers rushing to the scene, then McGonagall's voice is heard "as you can all see, the Heir of slytherin has left another message." the group of students slowly get closer to the end of the corridor peaking round the corner " our worst fear has been realized. a student has been taken by the monster into the chamber itself." McGonagall's voice quivers with worry " the students must be sent home, im afraid this is the end of Hogwarts" the students all look at one another exchanging glances as their attention is then drawn to a new set of footsteps approaching they look to see and professor gildaroy walks forward "urgh that idiot" delta silently mutters rolling her eyes. " so sorry dozed off. what have I missed?" gildaroy says chuffed like nothing has happened. snape turns to him " a girl has been snatched by the monster Lockhart, your moment has come at last." snape says with a small level of smug and sarcasm. gildaroy face slowly drops. "my...moment?" gildaroy replies his voice quivering." weren't you saying just last night that you've known all along were the entrance chamber of secrets is?" snape retorts toying with him clearly enjoying this look on him." that's settled then. We'll leave you to deal with the monster gildaroy." McGonagall adds "after all your skills are legend." the girls try holding in a laugh while having massive grins on there face. gildaroy's face changes to his smug arrogant self " very well" he says trying to not sound scared." ill uh, just be in my office getting... um ready yeah" he says awkwardly as he shifts anxiously turning away and heading down the corridor out of sight.

madam pomfrey begins to ask " who is it that the monster has taken Minerva?" McGonagall looks to her "ginny, ginny Weasley." harry and the girls look to Ron in the back who's both shocked and almost struck with tears. the teachers then begin to leave the corridor. once they know their the students slowly walk front towards the blood stained message which read ' Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever'. rons voice quakes as he reads it aloud. " c'mon we have to do something" Delta exclaims steadily going gildaroy's classroom the others follow quickly " gildaroy may be a useless twat but we can at least tell him what we know!"

They all rush into the classroom running to the back up the stairs pushing the door open they see gildaroy panicking rushing about throwing things in a chest"professor we have some information for you!" Delta exclaims as she then stops and looks at him " were you packing?!" gildaroy looks around anxiously thinking of something to say " uh, I, uh well, yes. umm urgent call unavoidable got to go." lynx rolls her eyes "Taylor do you smell that?" Taylor and the others look confused at delta " smells like what?" Taylor asks confused delta smirks " smells like bull shite! the fuck do you have somewhere else to be! " "miss snape you cannot speak to a professor that way!" delta scoffs at him " what about his sister!" gildaroy's stops for a moment looking at Ron " well... um...as to that most unfortunate, no one regrets more than I." he stuttered as he begins to packing again. " You're the defence against the dark arts teacher. you cant go now?!" Ron snapped. " well I must say when I took the job there was nothing in the job description about a-" He remarked as he grabs a case about to go towards the exit as harry and everyone stands Infront of him " your just running away?!" harry hissed. " after all that stuff you did in your books?" harry adds " books can be misleading" Lockhart remarked " you bloody wrote them!" Harry shouted." my dear children do you not use your common sense?! my books wouldn't have sold half as well if people didn't think id done all those things!" Lockhart yelled "told you he was an utter phony, your a fraud! who's been taken credit for what other wizards have done." Lynx remarks. " is there anything you can do?" Mia says sarcastily. " yes! now you mention it, im rather gifted with memory charms, otherwise you see all those wizards would have gone blabbing" he stated. " oh my god! your a genius!" delta exclaims with full of sarcasm. he then begins to slowly walk over to a case to his left " in fact I'm going to have to do the same to you." he blabbers on as harry, Ron and the girls bring out their wands slowly pointing them at him as he turns with his wand." Don't even think about it" Harry ordered. Lockhart drops his wand to the floor.
