Did you that a maternal aunts enjoys the same status as a mother??.
Uttering dejected and broken hearted, a person once came to Allah's prophet SAW and said;
"O massenger of Allah SAW ,I have committed a grave sin ,do l have a penance for that?.
The holy prophet SAW said,
{هل دلك من أم}
"Do you have a mother?"
He said "no"
Then the holy prophet SAW asked;
{هل لك من خالة}
"Do you have your maternal aunt?"
He said; "yes she is alive "
He said:
{فبرها}
"Go give her good treatment"
(Salih ibn hibaan:2/176/177)
This hadeeth shows us that a maternal aunt enjoy the same status as a mother.
