Ariel hissed harrowingly when Kelly touched her wound while driving back to Ariel's home. She insisted Ariel have a sleepover at her place but the stubborn one rejected saying Miles' school was her top-notch priority and she had no intention of making him skip a day. As she mentioned him, she curled her neck behind to see him sleeping in serenity by slumping with the car door. A smile broke her face recalling the lines of concern marring his face. Miles wasn't an expressive boy, he preferred to confine his emotions rather than sharing with her and the fact he couldn't tame down the empathy for his sister made Ariel flutter with happiness. She was happy that he responded, that he was recovering from his loneliness.

Kelly spared a glance at Ariel who was still smiling lost despite that big and rounded bandaid gracing her poor appearance. Her inner self couldn't hold the curiosity so she ended up asking, "What is it that's keeping the princess grinning?" Ariel turned to her, finding her staring at her when her focus should be on the road.

"Nothing. It was just an old memory that came out of nowhere," She tried to waive off, averting her eyes to her side's window, pretending lost again while her head hurt like someone was hammering it. Kelly's lips curled into a mischievous smile.

"As if I don't know how much that young dasher has his effect on you," Kelly sneered at her, dragging her attention with dire confusion. Her eyes were narrowed in bitterness as she shook her head for further explanation. Kelly took the clue and mouthed, "What? That guy...Smith. I know you were infatuated with him," Before letting her finish her remark, Ariel darted her eyes at Miles who was still pretty much asleep, and then back to her with an offended scowl.

"You're growing crazy. Nothing else." Ariel grumbled, feeling highly mistaken, but she wasn't going to explain herself.

"Spare me the lies, honey. He called me from your phone, Alisa explained how he carried you in his arms and also, he looked like a violent-less nice guy. I really think you should hit him or at least, make a move so we know if he's really up for you or not," Kelly suggested openly. She wasn't saying it just because she wanted her to hook up with someone but because she wanted her to think about her future and settle herself with a nice man. Someone who really deserved her. Someone who could love her for her selfless nature, not a lecherous goon who would beat, fuck and use her like a whore. Which both of them knew would happen if Ariel married Bruce.

"Tsk, Kel. Be reasonable, just because he helped me doesn't mean he was doing it just to get under my panties. That man had no intention to approach me. He was just helping, okay?" Ariel tried to knock some sense into her but the girl was no close to listening to her.

"Whatever you say friend, I'd take it for now since you're still under sedation but if in case you have a change of mind tomorrow, do tell me, I got his number for the recovery," Kelly professed grinningly. Ariel sliced her with staggering eyes which were igniting with many emotions but the top of them was rage, aggravation and embarrassment. What that man might have thought about them.

"Are you crazy? Delete his number right now, we won't need to meet them ever again," Ariel rattled out, displeased. She knew Kelly wasn't going to back off but she really wanted her to. After rejecting every attempt of her make-kate-meet-a-guy mission, she should have known that guys held no cell of her mind. In fact, they had never been a source of excitement for her. Her minutest desire was to be around guys or ever be noticed by them. Not having or seeing good experiences with the male gender had set her mindset against dating them.

"Oh, come on, dumbass. If not for yourself then for Miles at least. He deserves to be around a family guy, not that dog you are planning to have babies with," Kelly mouthed off that hit straight at Ariel's chest. She didn't like being reminded of Bruce. It wasn't less than a nightmare for her and since now Uncle Robert had given her a month, certainly, it didn't come off as any help.
