Tristan opened his eyes when the pilot was done announcing the landing. He unbuckled his seatbelt and snaked an arm under Ariel's back to lift her up. It was a long flight and she fell asleep on his shoulder. Tristan tried to close his eyes but their earlier conversation kept roaming in his mind. Her hesitation, her fear, it was bothersome but made him make a mental note of a few facts.
With Ariel gathered in his arms, he stepped down from the plane and let his hometown air welcome him wholeheartedly. They were in the US. He took her here and also shifted her brother to one of the top hospitals in New York. He was having the best-said treatment.
Tristan easily walked to the parked Cadillac. His bodyguard opened the door for him and he hopped inside. He settled Ariel on his lap and put her head close to his heart. Her soft breathing against his shirt and chest heaving gently was putting him in great difficulty but he was fighting with a brave face. Ever since he had tasted her, his appetite for her had taken a gain. Her soft skin over his fingertips, he was craving for it. He wanted to bury himself in her. He wanted to make love to her and make her sing his name over and over again. But the unseen barrier between them was putting his desire at bay. He had to wait and let her figure it out. Until then, he would try to win her over and make her see that he was the best decision she had ever made.
Within an hour, they reached his penthouse. This very penthouse was on the fifty-sixth floor. Mr. Maslow owned the building and it was said to be one of the most expensive houses in New York.
The chauffeur parked the car in the lot and stepped down to immediately open the door. Tristan alighted out and went to the elevator. The whole building was secured by guards and there were eighteen of them patrolling in the parking lot. One of the guards immediately pressed the elevator button as he saw his boss coming. The elevator slid by the time Tristan reached and he stepped inside.
Pressing the top floor, he waited.
His eyes were instinctively attracted to her face. Her lovely face. Even when sleeping she looked like an angel. A fallen one only meant to be his. Tristan scoffed in bafflement and wondered if he actually waited for her for over a decade. It sounded so surreal to a normal mind.
The bell chimed and the door parted away.
He stepped out and a strong fragrance of Turkish rose and jasmine wafted through the air, welcoming him like always. He closed his eyes and cherished the scent. His mind made him recall how he used to feel lonely after smelling it. The scent never failed to remind him of her. Of how lonely this house was without her. But this time, it was different. This time he brought the actual owner of this house in his arms. A smile flashed on his lips as he again looked at her and kissed her temple. Ariel breathed out deeply and snuggled her nose into his chest. His heart purred in admiration. He took her upstairs.
He crossed the bedroom hallway and took the second staircase that led to the master bedroom of this penthouse. That room was a mini penthouse itself. Tristan managed to hold her with one arm and extended out the other for handprint scanning. Once it finished, the door of his bedroom slid open automatically. Tristan watched it happening and stepped inside.
The warm aura with a world-class view came into sight. Tristan sighed with a satisfied smile and walked to his bed. The beautiful feeling of being completed was having him enjoy every moment. This woman had not even a slightest idea what she actually meant to this businessman.
Oh, baby, I wish you do His heart murmured. But he knew one thing, he would move heaven and earth just to make her realise the depth of his feelings.
He gently placed her on the bed and softly kissed her forehead and both cheeks. He longingly stared at her and caressed her tendrils before glancing at the clock. Begrudgingly, he leapt off the bed and went to take a shower. Tristan had a meeting to attend and then he had to visit Miles individually before his wife would do.
