It seems like human nature to be critical and judgmental towards those around us. Even more so when we start our walk as believers. There is a saying that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. As the Word teaches us of the Lord's ways, we first want to clean those around us. As we learn it is easier to say; "I know this will help someone I know". That should be an alarm making us aware that it is for ourselves.

Kevin is an intellectual who was raised in a family hating people with a different skin color. During Kevin's walk as a believer he worked hard at changing his ways. He believed he was delivered from the spirit of pride. Keven has not seen his friend Mary for a long time. So much has changed in his spiritual life since then. Mary too has gone through her share of trails and tribulations, which she was still digesting, but she too has grown in a different way from Kevin. Kevin and Mary arranged to meet up again.

During their visit there were things that bothered Mary in changes that occurred in Kevin's life. She made no secret thereof and boldly voiced her opinion. Kevin noticed that Mary spoke down towards people in lower paid jobs. It bothered Kevin, but he kept it to himself. He only glanced with pity on the receivers of Mary's wrath. It was also a thorn in Kevin's flesh that Mary treated her children lowly, raising her voice while finding fault with all they did.

In Kevin's mind it seemed as though she forgot that they are only kids and they need more than just discipline to become upstanding citizens. Mary was quite critical on Kevin's parenting skills and made no secret of it either. Kevin continued to suppress his opinion, thinking back on how loving Mary used to be with her kids during their last visit together, filled with hugs and kisses.

During Kevin's quiet time with the Lord, he laid all these concerns at the foot of the cross. The Holy Spirit reminded Kevin that others serve as a mirror for his own life. Kevin started reflecting on his own life and asked the Holy Spirit to reveal to him where in his life does, he not treat or think of God's creation with respect and honor. How does Kevin not treat the gifts the Lord gave in his care with the lovingness and, due care and kindness he was meat to. In Kevin's mind and heart does he see all, even those with a different skin color with love, care and kindness, does he really?

Kevin went down on his knees and repented. He interceded for Mary requesting forgiveness on her behalf, for as he, she knew not what she did. He asked the Lord to bless her abundantly and set her free. He thanked the Lord for saying yes and amen for his request made according to Father's will.

See things will not irritate and annoy if we don't have it within ourselves. Other's inequities are a mirror and then iron sharpens iron.

Once we submit this to the Lord it will no longer bother us when we see others struggling with the same strongholds we have been freed from. If it still causes an itch, we need to completely submit it to God and ask the other person to be blessed and forgiven, as we would like to be blessed and forgiven.
