A/N: Oliver Wood attended Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1987 to 1994. Some believe that Oliver Wood had graduated at the time of the Triwizard Tournament in The Goblet Of Fire but The Goblet Of Fire took place in 1994, which would have been Oliver's last year. Oliver Wood is included in this story although I'm not positive on the facts.

Halloween was approaching, which meant so was the Triwizard Tournament. It was October 14th and today was the day that the two other competing schools would arrive. I wish I was seventeen so I could enter the tournament. Eternal Glory and 1000 Galleon prize? I'm in! But it didn't matter.

Even if I was of age I couldn't enter. Because of my stupid little problem, or should I say large problem. My cancer wasn't getting any better. At all. But then again, my other problem wasn't getting better either. The one about Fred.

I'm still really confused about Those two mornings where something almost happened between us. I'm starting to doubt that Fred was actually going to kiss me, he doesn't even like me! Deep down, I still hope he does. Of course he wouldn't like you y/n! Stop being stupid!

And that's when class ended, interrupting my thoughts and signaling that it was time for the arrival of our competitors. Students filed into the corridors, all Eager to meet the foreigners. I looked around for the two giant gingers that I call my best friends but had no luck.

"Hey y/n!"

I turned around at the sound of a thick Scottish accent and beamed at my Quidditch Captain. Or should I say former Quidditch Captain. This year I was lucky that Quidditch was canceled due to the big event. That meant I wasn't missing out. For now.

"Hey Oliver. What's up?"

We Continued to walk outside only to find ourselves in the midst of sea of our classmates waiting in anticipation.

"I'll tell you what's not up, us! We should be in the air right now, practicing Quidditch drills but instead we are all sitting around waiting for people we don't even know to come and show us up in this stupid Tournament!!" He yelled and kicked the stone wall, frightening a couple first years.

"Ooookay. I think you need to calm down Ollie" I said, and I set my hand on his arm. Me and Oliver had been good friends since I made the Quidditch team. He was a really strong headed and brave guy, and he absolutely loved Quidditch.

His cheeks turned a bit pink as he looked down at my hand resting on his forearm. That's weird...

"Oi y/n!!! Over here" I whipped my head around to see my two favorite boys waving their arms frantically. I laughed and turned back to Oliver. "I'm sorry this happened this year. I really am. You know how much I love Quidditch. But at least you are playing for Puddlemore United next year! Can you believe that!?" He grinned with pride. "Yeah. It's gonna be great. Thanks y/n"

"No problem. Now I've got to get over to the boys before they come and kidnap Me themselves" He laughed and waved. "Bye y/n..."

I made my way through the crowd, reaching the twins with a grin on my face. "What's got you so happy?" George remarked as he skipped a rock on The Black Lake. "Oh nothing. Olivers just hilarious when he gets started on Quidditch. He is so disappointed this year." I sighed, picking up a stone and tossing it in the murky water.
