I woke up to the sound of my alarm .. this shit so loud I rolled my eyes at the sound of it . Shortly after I stretched and got up to make my bed before I brushed my teeth and washed my face oh and woke up my baby.
I rented a one bedroom in Astoria for 1400 a month it was pricey for me but I always made it work because living with "family" or on the street wasn't an option for me or zaidyn we've been through too much .
I made my living room into studio apartment kind of vibe , so zaidyn could have his own room .. plus it's only me and him with an occasional visit from my best friend noemi and her son .

I know y'all probably thinking oh yet another single black mother ? And outside looking in your technically not wrong but zaidyn is biologically my baby brother but I've been raising him on my own since my mother got killed ..
Our lives never been the same since and it's been a constant battle for me being so young , so tired, so angry ... but life doesn't stop I just make my little money and try to stay out the way but sometimes my circumstances get to my head ..
I had two jobs I worked at the bank and bartended mainly on the weekends but bartending was a more flexible thing I did when needed cause most of my nights are dedicated to zay .
After I finished gathering myself I walked into zaidyn's room .

" good morning papa it's time to wake up " i cooed gently while softly rubbing his head
He started to toss and turn and crack his little eyes open as well as a smile ..
" good mawnin yaya I get waffles ? " he asked
" you so greedy zaidyn but yes I will make you some waffles before I take you to grandmas." I finished
" I don't wanna go over dere yaya she be mean !" Zay's little voice exclaimed
" I know baby but no one else can watch you and I have to go to work , I promise soon imma find you a day care you can go to when I'm not here that way you can have fun and meet friends okay ?"
" otay " he pouted
I made him some waffles and put on a show for him knowing he takes long to eat I took that as an opportunity to get in the shower and dressed.
I had to go to probation before heading to work so I needed to get a move on .
and yes I said probation.. I've been on for about two years and change now cause the incident happened when zaidyn was almost one at the time.
to make a long story short I owed someone a ass beating for talking crazy and gave her just that and ended up with an assault charge . So now every other week I check in take a drug test and that's pretty much it .
" papa you done eating !?" I called from the bathroom
" yes yaya! "
" okay come here so I can wash your face and brush your teeth " and with that I got zaidyn together packed his lunch and snacks .
And with that we was out the door, I pulled up to my grandmas house that was about 10 -15 mins away from me . I mentally prepared myself to take him over there cause this old ass lady really be doing the most like we not her fucking family .
" grandma " I yelled out for her as I just welcomed myself in .
" you never knock yara !" She spat... see what the fuck I mean ? Why the fuck am I knocking at my grandmas house ? Like what's the issue bro
" I apologize Angeline .. i get off at 5:30 don't worry about dinner, he ate breakfast and I packed lunch and plenty of snacks , no juice before his nap please ." I said giving her a run down on MY brother cause she acts clueless every time I bring him
" you need to put him in day care or pay me because I'm getting too old Yara I raised my kids " she added
I really gotta start going back to anger management.. because bitch are you dead ass ? She didn't just tell me that ? For the last 3 years I've been taking care of him like he came out my coochie . Did I ask for my mother to be killed?? let alone for me to have to step up at 20-21 years old .
Like she acts like her daughter dying only effects her , like sis I lost a fucking mother.
" pay you to watch your grandson? Look I don't ask for anything and if I do it's cause I had no other choice . I make sure he doesn't need anything while here and I pick him up on time . I don't get the problem." I said matter factly
" I'm not gonna argue with you child " she said waving me off knowing she had no come back.
And with that I kissed zaidyn on the cheek and left ..
Probation was real quick I gave my sample and went on about my day because my p.o knew I worked and didn't give me a hard time Cause I didn't give him One .
I made it to the bank at 11:59 for my 12-5 shift I hurried inside clocked in and got to work . I was grateful for this job not letting me Go after my assault incident .
with me constantly having court or now probation but they've been super understanding considering we are a all black or minority staff our boss believes in chances as long as you a hard worker .
But that pretty much was my day, after my shift we got home I made my baby some dinner bathed him. & let him play with his toys in his room for an hour before it was lights out. As for Me had a glass of wine and watched p-valley .
Just a day in the life of being yaya Anderson .
