Once In A Lifetime

Chapter Ten

As you made your way to the training room, you were a little nervous. You weren't exactly sure why but just being around both the older women made you nervous. Once you opened the door to the training room. You immediately saw Wanda practicing her magic. You were in awe of what she could do. You never saw her use her powers. Ever. So when you stood there for a few minutes, she smirked at you and chuckled to herself. "Enjoying the view Y/N?" She teased. You shook your head to gather yourself and felt your face go warm. You didn't reply to her but walked over to Natasha. You and Natasha have been working on hand to hand combat the last time you were here. You wanted to keep doing that. You felt safer knowing you could protect yourself if you needed to. "Ready Y/N/N?" She asked. "Ready." You replied.

After three hours of constant training Wanda was the first to speak up "Maybe we should call it a day?" "Wait, can we just go again? Last time?" You asked. You didn't want to stop. You were caught up in your thoughts about being able to protect yourself. Probably because of your childhood with your father after your mom died. You wanted to make sure that could never happen to you again. Both women glanced at each other with confused faces before Natasha agreed to one last time. She swung at you and you were able to dodge it. You quickly rushed her and went in for a hit, but Natasha quickly grabbed you hand before it made contact with her and pinned you to the ground face first. You quickly tapped the ground three times to signal that you were done. Natasha quickly got off of you and you laid there for a minute, your body needing a break because you weren't use to all this physical work you've been doing. Both women rushed to you once you didn't get up.

"Oh god are you okay?!" Wanda asked kneeling down by you. "I'm sorry Y/N I didn't mean to go too far!" Natasha quickly apologized. You huffed put a laugh and rolled over on your back. You could see both women with worry painted over their faces. "I'm tired" is all you said with a smile. Wanda and Natasha both breathed out a sigh of relief at your joking and helped you on your feet. "Why did you want one last round?" Natasha asked you. You thought for a second, deciding if you should tell them the truth or not. "I want to be able to protect myself. I don't want anyone to have the kind of power over me that my father had." You said while walking to your water bottle. You felt a hand on your shoulder and looked back to see it was Natasha trying to offer some comfort. Then to your right you saw Wanda opening something that looked like a safe. She walked up to you with something that looked like a bracelet. "Here, this is for you. This is one of Tony's inventions. It looks like a normal bracelet but if you press this little symbol in the middle three times, it alerts all of the avengers if you're ever in any kind of trouble. It's connected to our phones and comms if we're on a mission." She explained while putting the bracelet on your left wrist. You looked at it and it was simple and kind of nice looking. It had faint black and red markers on it. You smiled thinking how fitting that two of your favorite people gave this to you with their signature colors. "Thank you." You smiled to both women. But what shocked them next was you pulled both of them in for a hug. You held on tight to both women. Apparently Wanda and Natasha knew you needed it and held you just as tight.

"You're welcome Y/N. But just as Wanda said the other day, we will keep you safe." Natasha said while still hugging you. You didn't know how much you needed to hear that until they said it. You felt safe and happy here. "Okay well why don't we get changed because I have a surprise planned for today!" Wanda said as she pulled back from the hug. You agreed and you all went your separate ways and went get ready. You had no idea what the plan for today was but you were excited to spend time with your two favorite people.
