Chapter 3 - First Impressions

The two new recruits entered the gymnasium side by side, their height difference was noticeable. Hinata Shouyou has always been smaller than the majority of his teammates and/or opponents, though he was taller than the last time Atsumu saw him – probably a little bit more than 170cm.

On the other hand, Sakusa Kiyoomi is also taller than Atsumu remembered, "he must be taller than 190cm!" Atsumu thought; he was even starting to get jealous of how much the raven haired had changed physically compared to him. Though, Sakusa still had his curly black hair as well as the two moles above his right eyebrow, in addition to his mask of course, "that, at least, didn't change," Atsumu thought, grinning. The blonde always wondered why Sakusa always wore a mask on but he never got the chance to ask since they never talked to each other, not even during the training camps.

Even though he couldn't see his face due to the mask, the blonde was sure that if his physique had changed that much, his face must be handsome as well – the addition of the two thus making a Sakusa hotter than the one he remembered. He couldn't wait to see him removing his mask. And even better: he couldn't wait to use his flirty behavior on him to see how the curly haired man would react – because each one of Atsumu's teammates were targeted by his flirty attitude and comments anyway.

But for now, Miya was focused on the little ginger one who he has been waiting for since their first game against each other during high school.

"HINATAAAAAAAAAA" both Bokuto and Atsumu yelled happily as they saw the redhead approaching, them also making their way towards him.

"MIYA-SAN! BOKUTO-SAN!" Hinata yelled as well and ran to them with a big smile on his face.

The three of them hugged each other as if they were friends since birth, to everyone's surprise.

"So you two apparently already know Hinata," Meian, the team's captain, said, more calmly.

"Of course captain! How couldn't we?!" Atsumu answered.

"Well, maybe the others know him less than you two do. Hinata-kun please introduce yourself properly, same for you Sakusa-kun, please." Meian then said, trying to calm Atsumu and Bokuto before the moment when they would start yelling and running everywhere around the room out of excitement – he knew they would.

"Hi everyone! My name's Hinata Shouyou, you can call me Shouyou! I hope we'll all be great friends!" Shouyou said with a large smile.

The team smiled as well and greeted him, one by one saying their names.

"YAYYY SHOUYOUUUU" Atsumu and Bokuto both yelled excitedly.

"Will you two please shut up and let Sakusa-kun speak?!" Meian yelled as well, but abruptly.

The room turned silent, Meian had some kind of a dad aura and everyone knew when to shut up when he spoke. So that's what Atsumu and Bokuto did.

Sakusa's introduction was very short and blunt since he just said his name.

"Sakusa Kiyoomi." He then bowed.

The room was still silent. An awkward silence. The players were looking at each other with confusion – the difference between Hinata and Sakusa's introductions was probably too big.

"Nice to meet you." Sakusa then added, hoping that the whole team would stop looking at him as if he was some kind of alien.

Their looks were different from the ones he was usually getting every time he entered any kind of restaurant or shop. Those ones were just full of confusion, they probably weren't used to formal speaking between them – from what Kiyoomi had seen with Hinata's introduction and the two other players' reactions, Miya and Bokuto if he remembers correctly.
