Freedom

I thought I saw you the other day.

I stopped mid-step at the sight.

I wanted to run.

You know me, I never run.

But I wanted to run,

 to you,

 into your arms.

Daily, you're on my mind.

Every second, I'm missing you.

Are you watching me?

Are you proud of me?

Until we meet again,

that's what I tell myself.

You don't want me to rush,

yet it seems almost like a blessing in disguise.

I saw you.

Laying there, although lifeless,

you seemed so at peace.

You're free from the pain,

and though the circumstances were uncircumstantial,

freedom from your demons,

that's all I ever wanted for you.
