I STOOD THERE, THINKING FOR A MOMENT.

"I actually think I'm going to stay back," I decided, walking away from the car.

"Are you sure?" Robin asked.

"Yeah, I think I'll stay with the others," I turned, and stepped back into the mall.

But when I entered the building, I didn't see anyone. I knew Nancy's car was parked in the front of the mall, so I started walking in that direction.

I heard the sound of a car's engine, so I began to run. I pushed the doors open, only to see Billy's car in the distance. In front of me was Nancy and Jonathan, standing in front of their own car. They were watching Billy.

He wasn't moving, but he was going to.

"Back in the mall!" Nancy shouted, opening the car door for the kids to get out.

I didn't move. I just watched as everyone ran inside in fear. I watched as Billy sat in his car. I knew he could see me, and I knew he could tell who I was. But that's not what I was focused on. All I could put attention to was the Mind Flayer. It actually found us.

The creature was huge, standing on top of the mall, and breaking the glass when it took a single step. When the glass finally gave way, releasing the beast into the mall, I decided it was best to run and hide.

But, Billy was still watching me. What was wrong with him?

I began slowly walking in his direction. Behind me, I could hear the others running out of the mall. I turned, and saw that Nancy had a gun. She pushed me out of the way and started shooting at him as he sped towards us.

She kept shooting at him, but he was unaffected. If he were to keep driving, he would hit me first, since I happened to be standing in front of Nancy. And I thought that's what was going to happen, because he was getting close. I put my hands in front of my face and ducked.

As soon as I thought the car was going to hit me, I heard a crash a looked up to see Steve had hit Billy's car with his own. Well, the Todfather.

I breathed heavily and turned to Billy. His car had caught on fire and he was unconscious in the front seat.

I ran to him. I didn't get too close, because I was scared. I've been scared of my brother before, but not like this.

"Billy?" I spoke quietly, "Billy, it's me."

There was no response, but the Mind Flayer was getting closer to where I was so I ran and hid near the side of the building. I peaked around a wall and saw the others drive off. Lucky for me, the Mind Flayer followed.

I saw that Billy was okay, because he got out of the car. He was coughing, but he seemed okay. Behind me, a metal gate began to open, and I could see Mike, Eleven, and Max walking through it. But once they saw Billy standing upright, they ran the other direction.

Max noticed me, "Cassie! Come on!"

I ran towards them, clicking a button to close the gate behind me. I followed them through a door and into a brightly lit hallway. And Billy followed.

I turned around as I heard the door open behind me, "Billy it's me. I'm your sister Billy, please."

He walked up to me and pushed me into the wall, hard. Max tried to talk to him too, but he hit her across the face, knocking her out. He walked towards Mike and El next, throwing their bodies against the walls.

He didn't knock me out, but I was too weak to get up and stop him when he picked up Eleven and began carrying her away.

He had already left, and once I felt I had the strength, I breathed in and stood up. I looked at Max and Mike's bodies on the ground. I had to leave them, for now at least, I needed to get to Billy. I needed to end this.

I snuck through a few doors to get to the main part of the mall. To my surprise, the Mind Flayer had come back. And Billy was standing directly in front of it. I ran towards Scoop's Ahoy and ducked behind the countertop. But I saw El, she was lying on the ground, as if she was a sacrifice.

Then, Boom.

Fireworks were going off, hitting the creature every time. I squinted when the bright lights of the fireworks spread through the mall. I had a chance to look up and see Steve throw one from the second floor of the mall.

Everything was happening so quickly.

I took this as an opportunity to go to him. Try to talk him out of whatever he was planning. But something was different.

"Billy?"

He didn't look up at me, all he did was grab my ankle and yanked it from underneath me, causing me to fall.

Then, the fireworks stopped. It felt as though everything stopped. I was close enough to him to hear that Eleven was talking to him. She was.. telling him about our mother. And she got to him. She reached Billy.

"She was pretty," Eleven winced, "She was really pretty. And, you were happy."

I began to cry. Why couldn't things have just stayed the way they were? I couldn't move, all I could do was watch.

Billy stood up, and stepped over El's body. He stood up tall and stared at the Mind Flayer in front of him. I was close enough to see the hundreds of teeth that were a part of the creature's mouth. And from the mouth, shot out a claw that went straight for my brother.

"No!" he cried, holding out his arms to stop it, "No!"

The Mind Flayer had had enough. There were more claws, reaching out to him now. They punctured his body, one by one.

"No!" I cried out, crawling towards him, "Billy!"

I was sobbing uncontrollably, to the point where it was hard to move my body. But there was nothing I could do now. I heard Max cry out Billy's name from behind me.

"Billy!" her voice echoed, and seemed to be the only thing I could hear over my own sobs.

Then, right in front of me..
