I RAN AS FAST AS MY BODY WOULD ALLOW ME TO. The dark clouds began to surround me, making it harder for me to see.

I darted around trees and jumped over branches to try and get somewhere safe, But there was nobody to be seen. No one who could possibly help me. There were no houses or buildings or.. anything.

I looked behind me to see if I was still being chased by whatever obligated me to run away at full speed. Looking back ahead of me, I had no time to stop before I fell directly off a steep ledge.

I was falling for what felt like forever, with no sight of where I was going. I squeezed my eyes shut. The ground must be closer now. I opened my eyes for a split second to see the ground inching closer and closer then-

I shot up from my bed, breathing quickly. "Jesus Christ," I mumbled under my breath, turning off my obnoxious alarm clock. Those damn nightmares will not go away. Maybe never sleeping again should be an option.

Trying to ignore the horrible sleep I just got, I began to sluggishly get ready for school.

Here we are, first day of Junior year, with Billy driving me and Max to school. Technically I could drive, I have my license, I just don't have a car. Billy bought his own blue rusted vehicle, but I was still saving up for my own.

He sped into the school parking lot, eventually coming to a stop. I got out of the passenger's seat and let Max out of the backseat. She got on her board and sped off. I shut the door behind me and watched as Billy dramatically stepped out of the car, tossing his cigarette in the ground. I rolled my eyes and began walking to my first class.

When the first bell rang, I noticed a dark haired girl standing outside the classroom, handing out orange sheets of paper. 'Come and get sheet faced,' they read. A Halloween party, great. This was going to be interesting.

The day moved by incredibly slowly, and all I wanted to do was go home and take a long nap. I didn't have any homework, luckily, so I could relax once I got to my house.

As soon as I did get home, I went to my room and shut the door behind me. I threw my body onto my bed and looked up at the ceiling.

My door opened quickly, causing me to look up. "You going to that party tomorrow?" Billy asked me, standing in my doorway.

"I don't know," I replied, "Parties aren't really my thing."

"Well, think about it," he said, turning around.

"Hey could you shut the-"

But he was already gone.

"Door." I rolled my eyes after having to get up from the comfort of my warm bed.

The second day of school was just as boring as the first. It went by crazy slow and all I wanted to do was go home.

Walking down the hallways, I enjoyed listening in on people's conversations. Some may call it an invasion of privacy, but I like to call it learning. I learn about other people and what is going on in their lives, which makes me aware of what I should look out for.

After the bell rang I began walking to Billy's car. He was leaning up against it, waiting for Max to arrive.

"Where is she?" he asked in an angry tone, "She's late."
