Third-Person POV:
When Adrien realized what he thought he had heard was right, he immediately choked on hiss mushroom soup. He started coughing and used his hand to cover his mouth. He was taken aback by the question as he wasn't expecting it.
Marinette glared at her mother before giving Adrien a napkin. Sabine tried her best not to laugh.
"Sorry, dear." Sabine said while stifling her giggle.
"It's fine, Ms Dupain Cheng." Adrien said while wiping his mouth.
Then, Marinette reached out her glass of water and gave it to Adrien who was still recovering from his coughing.
After chatting and eating, it was finally eight o' clock. Adrien knew he had to leave soon as his bodyguard would be worried. He took out his phone and dropped a text to Gorilla to tell him to pick him up.
"I'd wish to stay longer but I'd better go home now. Thank you letting me join the both of you." Adrien said earnestly.
"It's no bother, Adrien! We would be delighted if you can join us again someday!" Marinette beamed.
Adrien smiled and said,"I'll take my leave now. Enjoy the rest of your evening."
With that said, Adrien stood up and left.
"My, my, Marinette. Isn't he a gentleman?" Sabine chuckled.
"Yeah. He is." Marinette said.
"What was that?" Sabine teased her daughter.
"N-Nothing!" Marinette said while bright red.
After a few more minutes, Marinette and her mother decided that they should be leaving the restaurant. They both stood up and thanked the waitress who had been serving them earlier.
When they reached the counter to pay, the cashier said, "The young man who had joined you just now had already paid for the meals."
"He did?" Marinette and Sabine asked at the same time.
The cashier nodded.
***************************
"I still don't get why he paid it. He's still a child, right?" Sabine asked still not happy with the fact that Adrien had paid for their meals.
"Well, I believe he just wanted to do something nice." Marinette said.
"Yeah. Maybe he did." Sabine sighed.
When the mother and daughter reached the bakery, Sabine unlocked the door and led Marinette in first. When they reached inside, they both made their way to their rooms.
"Goodnight, sweetie. I hope you had fun today." Sabine said.
"I did. Goodnight, Maman." Marinette said before heading to her room.
When Marinette went to her room, she let out a heavy sigh. She placed her sling bag on her bed gently and went into the bathroom. Tikki went out of the bed and snuggled herself under the duvet covers.
After Marinette got undressed into her pajamas, she climbed her way up to the balcony as she wanted some fresh air. She rested her arms on the cold metal railings and closed her eyes. She felt the chilly breeze hit her skin and shivered.
Suddenly, she heard a soft thump from behind her. She turned around and to her surprise, it was Chat Blanc.
"Hello, Marinette." He said as he adjusted his sitting position.
"Chat Blanc! Hi." She said awkwardly.
Marinette wasn't expecting Chat Blanc to show up at such an unusual time.
"You don't mind if I just sit here for a while?" He asks
"Y-Yeah sure. I don't mind." She says.
They sat in silence for a few seconds before Chat Blanc broke it.
"You look beautiful with your hair down." Chat Blanc complimented.
Marinette turns to face him. Her face red as a tomato.
"T-Thank you." She replies.
"How was your day?" He asks.
"It was great. I got to spend time with my mom. I also met my friend, Adrien. And all three of us had a meal." She shares with him.
When she was done speaking, she asked him, "How was yours?"
"It was a lovely one for me. I too, met someone. I met a very pretty girl today." He says.
"Do you like her?" Marinette asks with curiosity.
"I don't like her." Chat says.
A/N: Psssttt! Don't worry. He's just in denial ;)
"Oh, okay." She says.
"I wanna know...Why are you comfortable talking to me? I'm a criminal. A villain. Everyone hates me." He says.
"I think you're nice. I'm sure that everyone has their reasons for being bad sometimes. You're not really bad." She says while staring at the view.
Chat Blanc chuckles and stands beside her.
"Look at the time. It's twelve midnight." He says while pointing to his baton.
"Happy birthday, Marinette."
"How did you-"
Marinette was cut off with Chat Blanc placing his index finger on her lips. Her eyes then trailed to a blue box in his other hand.
He pulls away his index finger and holds out the box to Marinette. She was a little suspicious of it but she took it anyways.
"Thank you, Chat Blanc." She says with a smile.
Chat Blanc returns her a smile and extends his baton.
"Hope you'll like it. Adios." He says before giving her a salute and setting off into the night.
Marinette chuckles and says, "Silly kitty."
She climbs back down to her bedroom and shuts the trapdoor. She lays softly on her bed and opened the box. The box revealed a stunning necklace that had a paw at the tip. She smiles and studies the crystals on it.
She sighs and places the necklaces back into the box. She sets the box under beside her and slowly drifts to sleep.
