Marinette POV:

Winter. The coldest season which comes after autumn. In this season, the sun rises pretty late and does not last for long. That is why days are shorter and nights are longer. It's December and Paris is already covered in thick, white snow.

The other people in Paris are probably snuggled up in blankets in their warm homes. And here I am. Outside of Gare du Nord with Chat Blanc.

Chat told me to dress up as something Marinette Dupain Cheng doesn't often wear. So, I wore the coffee-colored coat that Chat had gotten for me, a white t-shirt, some black pants, brown Ugg boots, a maroon-colored beret and a pair of sunglasses.

My hair was down and were in wavy locks. My cheeks were tinted pink from the bitter cold. I looked so different.

Chat was wearing a grey mask, grey coat, black shirt and black boots. His blonde hair was messy and ruffled up. He looked quite cute.

Third-Person POV:

Marinette looked stunning. Adrien tried his absolute best not to look at her but every time he found himself staring at her.

When the two had gotten into the Gare du Nord station, Adrien went to ticket machine and bought two tickets to London. Once he had the tickets, he placed them in his pocket and looked at the enormous clock that hung over the arrivals and departures board. Marinette stared at the clock too.

The board showed that the train was shortly to depart from platform three and he ran towards it whilst dragging Marinette by her wrist. He jumped aboard with Marinette just as the conductor started to slam the doors.

The journey to London to Paris would take about three hours. The train shuddered as it left the station in a cloud of steam and noise, and Marinette watched from the open window as a woman dragging a suitcase behind her ran towards it, calling the driver to wait. Marinette watched as she put her bag down and began slowing down.

Marinette only had time to watch the expression on the woman's face change from worry to distraught before a hand tapped her on the shoulder and she spun around.

"Marinette, you okay?" Adrien asked.

"I'm fine." She replied.

Before they could continue, a train conductor stepped beside them.

"What are you doing out here?" said the conductor. "Do you have a ticket?"

Adrien reached into his pocket and took out the two tickets he bought from earlier and showed it to the conductor. The man took the tickets roughly, and Adrien watched as his ink-stained fingers ran across the lines, his mouth mouthing each word to himself under his breath.

He stank of cigar smoke, and Marinette felt her stomach lunge a little with the combination of the bad smell and the movement of the train.

"Alright then," the conductor said, thrusting the tickets back into Adrien's pocket, looked over to Marinette before looking at Adrien. "You both travelling together?"

"Yes, sir."

"No parents?"

"No, sir."

"Well, you can't just stand out here while the train is in motion. It's dangerous. You could fall out and be turned into minced meat under the wheels. Don't think it hasn't happened before."

Marinette and Adrien shot each other a look of confusion before turning back to the conductor.

"Come along then," said the man, grabbing Adrien and Marinette roughly by the shoulders and dragging them past a row of compartments as Adrien carried his and Marinette's suitcase with him.

"Full," muttered the conductor, looking into one, before moving on quickly.

"Full," he said again when he saw the next one.

"Full. Full. Full."

He glanced at Adrien and Marinette.

"I don't think there are enough seats." he said. "The train is packed today so you two might not be able to seat. But you can't stand all the way to London either. It's a safety concern."

Marinette said nothing. She didn't know what this meant. If she couldn't sit and stand, then that didn't leave her a lot of alternatives. It wasn't as if she could float.

"Ah," said the man finally, opening a door and looking inside; a buzz of laughter and conversation spilled out into the corridor. "There's room for two in here. You don't mind, boys, do you?"

One of boys glanced at Marinette before looking at the conductor and replying, "Yeah, we don't mind at all."

"Alright then, I'll leave them both here." said the conductor before stepping out of the way.

Marinette felt her anxiety grow even more. Four boys, all aged around seventeen to eighteen and well-built, turned to look at Adrien and her silently, as if they were a pack of hungry wolves unexpectedly alerted to fresh prey.

Adrien noticed Marinette's uneasiness so held her hand. She looked at him slightly shocked before smiling at him. All of her worries melted away once she felt his touch.
