Third-Person POV:
After Marinette wrapped herself up in the dry towel, she stepped out of the bathroom and walked past the living room only to see Chat Blanc reading a book. When both of their eyes met, Marinette blushed and he brought the book up closer to his face to hide his red face.
Marinette scurried past the living room and went into the bedroom and locked the door. She heaved a sigh of relief before getting dressed. She used the towel to dry her hair and stepped out of the bedroom. She walked into the living room where Chat Blanc was and sat on the couch.
"Thank you for all of this," Marinette spoke up.
Chat mumbled a soft 'Your Welcome.'
"I've been meaning to ask you something. I don't know where to start." Chat sighed while rubbing his temples.
"Just tell me!" Marinette pleaded.
"Nevermind. I-It's not important." Chat said.
"Chat! You are no stranger to me. You've been so nice to me. You have been taking care of me and you've helped me escape Paris! I'm here for you! You can tell me whatever you want!" Marinette reassured.
"If I'm not a stranger to you, then what am I to you?" Chat asked.
"You're my friend, Chat." Marinette beamed.
Chat Blanc stayed silent. Though he wished that her answer hadn't been friends, he knew it was something.
"Thanks." He mumbled.
After a few seconds of sitting in silence, Marinette asked, "So, how are you handling this whole situation?"
"About what?" Chat asked.
"You know, staying in London and stuff! I'm sure you have a life back in Paris?" Marinette said as if it was the most obvious thing.
"I'm happier here. I have more freedom when I'm here." Chat admitted.
"Tell me more about the boy behind the mask." Marinette asked.
"The boy behind the mask. In Paris, many people didn't like him. He's been treated very badly as a civilian and by his dad. But there is this one girl. This girl, who lit up his world. The boy behind the mask was stuck in the dark. But when she came, she lit up a pathway of hope for him. From then onwards, he's been feeling something he had never felt before." Chat said as his eyes trailed from the wooden floor to Marinette.
"She sounds nice." Marinette said with her eyes on the floor.
"She is." Chat said while looking at her. "She's also very beautiful."
"Do you love her?" Marinette asked.
"I kept telling myself I didn't but now, there's no denying it..." Chat admitted as a soft chuckle escaped his lips.
"Well, I'm sorry you needed to leave her in Paris just for me." Marinette said completely oblivious to the fact that he had been talking about her the entire time.
"I don't regret leaving her in Paris." Chat chuckled.
"Why not? I thought you just said you loved her!" Marinette said wide-eyed.
" I do. I don't regret it at all. Because I'm talking to her right now." Chat said.
Marinette stared at him wide-eyed, her face turning red. Marinette was felt flustered. All her thoughts suddenly froze. Her mind was a blushing mess.
Chat's started chuckling.
"Did you really mean what you said just now?" Marinette asked, embarrassed.
"Of course, I do." Chat replied.
"I-I-" Marinette started but couldn't stop blushing. Her mind was a complete mess right now. "I feel the same way about you too..." Marinette said softly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't hear you quite properly. Could you repeat what you said?" Chat teased.
"Ugh, you silly kitty." Marinette grumbled.
"I've been meaning to tell you something." They both said at the same time.
They both started to laugh.
"You go ahead," Marinette told him.
"I'm. I'm Adrien Agreste." he said.
The words hit Marinette like bullets. The person whom she cared the most was also the one she had been neglecting as Ladybug. She always had an urge to tell him that she was Ladybug, but she didn't know how he would think of her after.
"You're A-Adrien?"
"Claws in,"
The living room was filled with a blue glow as Adrien detransformed. Marinette was still processing everything she was hearing. They both sat in companionable silence before Marinette spoke.
"Adrien... I am actually-"
"Ladybug? Yeah, I figured it out."
Marinette's eyes widened as she let the words sink in. He knew that she was Ladybug.
"But, how? How did you-"
"Remember last night? When you fell asleep in the taxi, I had to carry you out here. When I placed you on the bed, your bag fell off. Before I could pick it up, it started wriggling. And when I opened it, I found Tikki. I looked at you and your earrings and it all started to make sense... "
"Marinette, I don't hate you. I love you. I know that you are Ladybug and I've accepted that. You knew that I'm Chat Blanc and yet you still gave me a chance. I've been cruel to you when you were Ladybug. I was selfish to ask you for your Miraculous just to bring back my mother back to life. "
"I'm terribly guilty of threatening and scaring the civilians of Paris. And instead of trying to make things easier for you, I was against you. I can't believe that you were fighting a battle against Hawkmoth and me all this while-"
"Adrien, it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that we forgive each other and stay together. Not everything is your fault, you know that, right? Having a responsibility as Ladybug, I should've done a better job too... "
The two sat in silence and Marinette started fidgeting.
Then, Adrien walked over to Marinette and cupped her cheeks and pulled her into a passionate kiss. Marinette was a little startled but didn't resist. While kissing him, both her hands trailed to his neck. They pulled apart for a few seconds to catch some air. His hands slowly snaked around her waist and she blushed before pulling him into another kiss.
A/N: That's that. I'm sorry to those who were expecting more. I'm sorry to disappoint you readers. But the truth is, I wanted to discontinue the story because I couldn't get any ideas flowing in for more chapters. And it was getting boring for me. The other reason is because I have an idea for a new story, and I couldn't focus on this one.
I'm really thankful to those who have been voting, commenting and following me. I really appreciate your support.
Thank you for reading!
