Chapter Seventeen: The Jolly Trip
"Vacations are a much needed rest after a busy year."
╚══ ❀•°❀°•❀ ══╝
It had been a little over a week since Oreo came home.
The sun was shining faintly, allowing an array of dark red colours to light up the evening sky. Ginny was humming to herself and Oreo in the garage when the shutter was pushed open.
Ron walked in, wearing a grin; his hair was messy as if he had just gotten into a fight. Ginny raised her eyebrows at him and Oreo ran out of the car to circle his legs. Ron picked the tiny pup up and took a seat beside Ginny.
"Y'know what?!" he asked, his grin never fading as Oreo licked his palm.
"Won't know until you tell me, dear ol' brother," Ginny retorted.
"We are going on a vacay to the French Riveria! Percy has won a lottery! Can you believe it?! Our dear Percy! A lottery!" Ron exclaimed, looking like a child. Ginny smiled sadly at him and he noticed it. "Whazzaroblem?" he stuttered out as Oreo climbed onto his shoulders and pawed around his face.
"You guys enjoy. I'll have to stay back anyway," she said sadly.
"No, you won't sis! We are taking the Angelia along. We need a car to look around the places and although all of us won't fit in, we can at least fit six in and several kids!" Ron explained. Ginny's face brightened.
"Really?"
Ron nodded.
"Who all are coming?" she asked enthusiastically.
"For starters, mum and dad. Then the whole Weasley clan and. . . Harry and your kids!" Ron answered back with as much eagerness in his voice as Ginny's. She grinned at him and gave Oreo a paw-fi.
"We are going on a family trip Oreo! Can you believe it?!" she asked the pup. Oreo barked in response, wagging his tail eagerly.
"Blimey! I can't come to terms with Oreo understanding you," Ron laughed. Ginny chuckled and the rest of the evening was spent playing with the enthusiastic black puppy.

The day of the trip had finally arrived. Ginny had done some extraordinary changes to the car which allowed accommodation of eleven people instead of the usual five, excluding the kids. This allowed the whole Weasley family to fit in which was truly magical. The kids were on their parent's laps.
It was quite early in the dawn when the Ford Angelia zoomed past highways in top speed. Charlie was quite the risk-taker and when the steering was in his hands, the whole clan, with the exception of Hermione, were all in for the thrill.
When the sea coast came into view, Ron took over the wheel, flying higher and higher into the clouds.
James had escalated to the next level by singing one of Harry's cheering songs for Ginny's Harpies' matches in a loud amplitude. Although his words were not recognizable, none of them had not a smile on their faces.
When Fred the second, George and Angelina's son, learnt the lyrics he tagged along with his cousin to turn the car into a disco of sorts. Ginny had taken the ride to drink in as much as she could of her family's joy and company which she had so missed.
It was nearly noon when the family reached French Riviera. A total of three cabins were allocated to the Weasleys and Potters. Mr and Mrs Weasley shared their cabin with Percy's and Ron's family. The rest took the other cabin and the Potters had one completely for themselves.
Although Harry had been reluctant to rent another cabin, upon Percy's persuasion he finally agreed.
Since there was a lot of time for the sun to set, George suggested the idea of taking a leisurely stroll around the city and come back to view the sunset from the beach. With everyone's affirmation, they changed clothes to a more comfortable gear and started their walk.
Ron had to take the Ford Angelia because the kids were already tired but the main reason was to make sure Ginny saw every place that they visited.
French Riveria was a beautiful coastline city. Encompassing the glamorous retreats of Cannes, Nice, and Saint-Tropez, the French Riviera is a gorgeous stretch of France’s southern coast next to the Ligurian Sea. Travelers can choose from a beachside stay surrounded by yachts in Antibes, or a hilltop setting in Eze for jaw-dropping sea views.
Ron's family had planned to spend the complete next day in Eze, trekking and picnicking around the lush greenery.
When Dominique complained of hunger, a few minutes after walking, Hermione looked into an itinerary and suggested an hotel and that was their destination – food.

The coastline was a faded blue as the sun's last illuminating rays fell gracefully upon the waters.
It was half past six when everyone returned to view the sunset. The kids were asleep, leaving the couples to peacefully watch the setting sun.
Charlie took over the babysitting part as Teddy and Victoire were still up and active.
"It is so beautiful," Mrs Weasley whispered. Everyone nodded quietly.
"France is such a beautiful country, isn't it?" Hermione asked, smiling. Ron stroked her bushy hair as Oreo barked in affirmative.
"Not as beautiful as you, though," Ron complimented. Bill, Percy and George echoed him to their respective wives causing all the girls to roll their eyes.
"You so are so predictable!" Angelina harrumphed.
"Well, what do you expect? We are brothers," Percy replied.
"Amazing."
"Daddy!" a small voice came and everyone wheeled around. James was running towards them. Harry ran the rest of the way and caught his son.
"Hungry, Jamie?" he asked. James's tummy answered in affirmative, causing rounds of laughter. "All right, let's go and get some food."
"I heard that they are keeping a buffet on the coastline, a few miles from here. I think that would be a nice choice," Hermione suggested.
"Sounds good. Let's go clan!" Mr Weasley exclaimed and Ron hurried to get the car. Little did they know that there was a surprise waiting for them at the banquet area. . .
Start of a new plot yay! I've been excited to write about the Weasleys and Potters going on a vacation so yeah.
French Riveria is a real place and I love sea!
