Chapter Twenty Two: A Day of Fun

"Take a break and have fun. After all, that's what life is about."

╚══ ❀•°❀°•❀ ══

The next morning was sunny and pleasant, the ideal weather for a beach day. Planning ahead of time was a very Percy-ish thing to do yet it was Bill who had arranged for his family to go swimming in the vast blue water body in front of their cabin.

After placing several privacy charms which included a magical folk repellant charm as well, most of the Weasley men dived into the salty sea, splashing water everywhere and even ruining the kids' sandcastles. This caused an outrage from Fleur and Molly who had taken to taking care of the kids. George's pleading tone along with Angelina's reassurance that this would not happen again somehow managed to save them. The latter then sent a warning glare at the ones she had rescued.

Teddy was trying to swim independently and Harry watched over him while holding a waddling James.

With Oreo on his side and Rose on his lap, Ron was grinning at Charlie who was being made a fool by his elder brothers and Angelina. They were apparently trying to fool Charlie into thinking that huge sea dragons lived here whilst he pretended not to hear them.

"This is so fun, isn't it?" Hermione asked, approaching Ron and the Angelia he was sitting it. Ron pretended to be surprised.

"Fun? Blimey, girl! Who are you and what have you done to my Hermione?!" Hermione snorted and Rose giggled. "I can never imagine Hermione Granger-Weasley telling something is fun other than being crammed with books and reading for tests."

"The test phrase is long since over, I believe Ronald," Hermione retorted back. Rose gurgled in response.

"Oh boy does your daughter like her parents arguing," Ginny piped up from behind, Oreo barking affirmatively. Ron ignored them both, instead looking at the sunburnt Hermione. Her baby bump was starting to show.

"You know, we haven't talked about er. . ." Ron stuttered, not finding the right words. Hermione turned to look at him.

"Names for our baby?" she suggested and Ron nodded. She smiled at him before kneeling down in front of him and petting Oreo. "Since you suggested a sweet name for Oreo, why not suggest one for the baby as well?" she asked softly. Ron could feel Ginny inch away from behind him.

"Maybe I could ask a certain smartypants about it," Ron responded.

"Really? What about Muriel?" Ginny snapped.

"What about Mu – ahem, I mean Mylene! Yeah, Mylene," Ron stuttered. Hermione looked at him oddly before looking over his shoulder.

"Mylene? Fine. What if it's a boy?" she asked.

"You won't snog Muriel's photo so why not hug her for being a 'great' aunt?" Ginny's voice came from behind.

"Hug – I mean, how does Hugo – sound?" Ron swiftly changed the name again. Surely Ginny was trying to make a fool out of him but he was not going to fall into her trap that easily. Hermione's eyes brightened up.

"That sounds pretty, Ron!" she complimented. Ron grinned and kissed the top of Rose's head as she giggled cutely.

"I can't wait, Hermione."

Hermione smiled, knowing what he meant. "Neither can I, Ron."

Ron smiled back warmly at Hermione and gave her small peck; he did not care when Ginny shouted. "Get me outta here! I can't watch my brother and my best friend being so cringe!"

The next day, unfortunately, was not filled with outdoor activities as the previous day owing to a heavy downpour. The kids were particularly upset because their playtime was cut short.

In order to lighten the mood, George and Angelina came up with a Muggle board game they found in a souvenir shop nearby. Hermione helped them to set it up and Ron's dad was really fascinated by it that he stumbled onto everything that was surrounding the game when the bushy haired witch was setting it up. Ron found it rather amusing (and alarming) when his father tripped on James and fell over on Charlie who ultimately crashed into the charpoy holding a vase. Little did Ron's godson know that he was spared from becoming jam.

Needless to say, Ron's father received a rather long lecture from his mother and Hermione with Harry shooting apologetic looks at him. On the other hand, James was grinning and running around Teddy along with Fred II.

With the game set and mugs of steaming hot chocolate, everyone settled around the huge rug in the sitting room of the Potters' cabin, a good thirty minutes later. Oreo and Ginny were peeking in from the windows, the pup leaving paw prints on the glass.

"Okay, let's start!" Hermione exclaimed and threw the dice. She moved her pawn to its place and passed the set of dice to Ron. The game was Monopoly, a multi-player game which she had played when she was younger. Ron knew the nostalgic look from her face that she had played it with her parents, Mr Granger and Mrs Granger.

Ron looked at all of them before throwing the die above into the air. One of it hit Bill and the other knocked off a cup on the table. Cursing, Ron mended the cup as Ginny laughed hard from outside with Oreo by her side, stamping his tiny paws on the glass.

"Truly, Ronald?" Hermione asked with half an amused expression as all the kids started laughing along with their uncles and aunts. Ron turned as red as his hair then let out a chuckle.

"Blimey, Hermione but Muggles are truly ingenious!"

After almost an hour into the game and all the kids falling asleep on their parent's laps, Bill called off the match and got up slowly in order to not wake Victoire up. He cleared his throat before talking. "Can everyone assemble here, tomorrow at let's say, nine in the morning? Including the kids. I have something very special to show you to end our vacation in a happy note and know what? I had retrieved it just before Perce won the lottery," he announced and looked at everyone hopefully.

"Of course, we can be here tomorrow son," Ron's father replied from everyone's side and the matter was settled. Everyone bade goodnight and farewells and left the Potters' cabin but Ron's mind was marvelling with thoughts of what his eldest brother might have retrieved a few days ago. When addressed to Ginny, she shrugged it off and told that surprises cannot be ruined, even by the intelligent and curious mind.

Passing it over the same way Ginny did, Ron fell asleep beside a snoring Rose and a dreaming Hermione.
