Chapter Twenty Four: Down To A Photo Finish
"Take a break and have fun. After all, that's what life is about."

The vacation ended on a blissful and serene note. The Weasleys enjoyed stargazing with grilled barbeque and a merry bonfire. They shared stories from their past or workplaces, jokes which could only be told to family and some legends which are still perceived to be myths of the lost time. Hermione proposed the idea of taking a click under the dreamy, starry sky and everyone agreed enthusiastically.
A family photo was taken, with their transport, the Ford Angelia behind them and a small flame for the purpose of lighting in the front. It was a normal Wizarding photography as they had decided to take a Muggle version early next morning. With the shooting stars falling from heaven and the joyful faces of a building family, the photo was absolutely a cherishable memory, not to be forgotten as easily.
Ron could not see Ginny in the photo but came to the conclusion that the camera probably was not as sharp eyed as Oreo, or any dog for that matter.
The initial laziness of going back to normal life, to work, came back to haunt the enjoying Weasleys as they departed from French Riveria, next dawn. A Muggle camera around his neck, Ron was proud to have taken a photo at the first try with a Muggle camera. Although Harry (and James for that matter) liked to call down as sheer dumb luck, he was glad that Hermione was backing him up and pleased with himself.
They reached The Burrow by noon. Mrs Weasley prepared a quick lunch and after that, everyone departed to their sweet homes. Hermione decided they take one last drive home and Ron obliged. While on their way, they dropped Harry and the kids home as well.
"Bid your uncle and aunt bye, kids!" Harry encouraged, waving Albus's hands.
"Bye Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione!" Teddy said, giving them a hug. James did the same and Albus just waved his hands, albeit enthusiastically. Teddy dragged James in with him as soon as Harry unlocked the door.
"They are just sleep-deprived," Harry said, smiling at his best friends.
"We know. Rose as well," Hermione replied, looking inside the car where Rose was curled up. "Take rest. We better – ouch!" Hermione suddenly fell to the ground, clutching her head.
"Hermione!" Ron and Harry shrieked before Harry ran in to fetch water and drop Albus off.
"Are you okay, Hermione?" Ron asked, gripping her hand and holding it close to her. She did nothing to reassure him and he waited in tense silence until Harry got a glass of water and offered it to her. Ron helped her gulp it down with Ginny watching over Rose. "Hermione?"
"Y-yeah, I'm fine," the bushy haired witch waved it off. "Just felt dizzy."
"Let's go home," Ron ushered and she nodded.
"You guys can spend the night here if you like," Harry offered but Hermione shook her head.
"No really, I'm fine, Harry."
"Then at least, use my floo. Driving home might not be the best option right now," Harry suggested. It seemed like the most legitimate idea so Ron followed along and helped his wife up. He gave the Angelia's keys to Harry.
"I'll come back tomorrow to pick it up," he said to the black haired man. "Take care." The last message was addressed to the concerned Ginny who was sitting inside the car. Harry fetched the suitcases and Rose and helped them into the house, leaving Ginny alone in the car. She did not mind being alone, Oreo was still there for her, but she was concerned for Hermione. Ginny knew, all too well, how hectic it was to carry but then again, Hermione was faced troubles with Rose as well. It might have been the scar left during their run; her torture at the hands of Bellatrix. This was what worried the redheaded witch the most.

The night was peaceful and Ron was looking at his sleeping wife. After having dinner (which Harry delivered) she fell asleep in the couch. Ron carried her to their bedroom, with increasing anxiety.
Ginny and Oreo were at the Potter Manor. What would he do if Hermione was to face some or the other sort of pain in the middle of the night? He was totally an hopeless man in the face of such situations. It was Ginny who had helped him and Hermione through their nine months journey the first time. Harry's and the rest of his family's support was there too, but nothing was more than Ginny's and the fact that she was not even present in his garage was worrying for him.
Thankfully, the night passed and when Hermione woke up, she was fresh and lively.
"You are not going to the ministry today," Ron ordered her, shoving a cup of coffee into her hands. She rubbed her eyes before glaring at him.
"Seriously, Ronald? I must go, otherwise they might give me tons of paperwork!" she exclaimed.
"Hermione, I'll take care of them! I'll beat them to death if they give my beautiful wife so much of paperwork!" Hermione turned red. Ron kissed her cheek before getting up. He had to pick the Angelia from Harry's. Before he could leave, however, Hermione grabbed his arm.
"If you want me to stay behind, I need you to be with me as well," she whispered shyly.
Hermione never really got timid around him. She was always bubbling with aggressive energy which boosted the spice of their silly arguments. "Blimey! Who are you and what have you done to my Hermione Granger?"
"I must tell that. It's is one Ron Weasley who has brought about the change in Hermione Granger," she replied, setting down the coffee mug but not letting his arm go.
"Well then, I'm glad to relax another day off with you."
And Ron did not regret the decision.
I'll try to update weekly once from now on but then again, no promises!
