I walk into Professor Gildart's class, and slump down in my seat. There are only two days left until the dance, and Levy's been really busy. I had lunch with Lisanna a couple times, but she seemed to have a lot on her mind, and was very distracted. Erza was nice, and we had lunch together. All she ate was a slice of strawberry cake, though...

"... the answer, Miss Lucy?"

"Huh?" I lift my head to see the professor looking right at me.

"I asked a question to the class. Do you have an answer?" I sneak a peek at the board, but it doesn't give any hint as to what his question was.

"No sir, I'm sorry."

"Maybe you should pay a little more attention in class, Miss Heart- I mean Miss Lucy." Professor Gildarts is careful to watch his tone of voice and facial expression, but I still hold my breath at his slip-up. Some students look at me, especially Levy, but I ignore them. When class ends, she comes over to me.

"Lu-chan... That was close! I thought the teachers knew not to make that mistake!"

"It's ok, Levy-chan," I say. "It's a natural mistake. It's not his fault."

"But what if kids start suspecting? I thought you didn't want that to interfere..."

"Levy-chan, it's already been over a month. I think that the friends I have now are good enough to trust me, no matter who I am, or what my name is."

"But it's more than a name, Lu-chan! It's a lineage! It's an inheritance! Those kinds of things really change a person's perspective!" Levy puffs her cheeks out, and I laugh.

"Don't worry. But if anything does happen, you'll be the first to know."

"Hey Lucy, what was that about?" Mira walks up to me at the end of the day, intercepting me in the halls.

"What was what about?"

"Prof. Gildarts. He never mistakes a student's name. Ever." Her hands are on her hips, showing she means business.

"What are you trying to say?" I avoid Mira's eyes.

"That Gildarts does actually know your name, and we don't. Now that I've thought about it, you've never told us your last name. Ever." I focus on her perfectly manicured nails to try and take the edge off her piercing gaze.

"Really...?" I try to play dumb, but half-ass it. I guess deep down, I'm tired of keeping the truth from everyone, but that's how it has to be.

"Really. You're avoiding the topic, Lucy. What's your name? Who are you?"

"Can you keep a secret?" I lean into Mira. I barely know her, but something about her makes her seem trustworthy, like she'd be a good friend. Plus, Laxus is head over heels for her- they make a great couple!

"Of course!" Mira smiles at me, and I can tell she's expecting the worst.

"Promise not to scream, or make any kind of sound?"

"Lucy," she trails off, impatiently.

"Heartfilia," I say quickly.

"What?" Mira asks, leaning in.

"That's my name, Mira. I'm-"

"The heiress to a billion dollar company fortune? The girl every female child envies? The girl every boy dreams about? The girl featured in Sorcerer's Weekly magazine articles?" I laugh at her catchy enthusiasm.

"That was one time, and the article wasn't even about me. Plus, I've seen you in Sorcerer's Weekly, too. You're a model."

"Yeah, but you're Lucy Heartfil-"

"Careful, Mira. There's a reason I don't tell people my name. But I trust you."

"I won't tell anyone." Mira grabs my hand, and I sigh.

"You know, I'm glad I told someone. I didn't realize how much of a burden it was."

"Does anyone else know? At school, I mean."

"Levy-chan knows. Remember that business school project last year...?"

"Right. I volunteered at a zoo for that project." I try not to let my eyes widen as I picture Mira working with and cleaning up after various animals. With her pristine image at school, I would have never guessed... Mira, like Laxus and everyone, is so much more than her exterior. "Did Levy..."

"Levy contacted me for that project. I told her about what business is like, what my dad does, how much he works. Stuff like that."

"Wow. Your dad is the Jude Heartfilia. That's... wow." Mira's eyes sparkle.

"I just hope this doesn't change how you think of me. That's why I'm always afraid of telling people who I am."

"Of course it won't! I knew you were a good person, Lucy. And no matter what anyone else thinks, I ship you and Natsu," Mira leaned in and whispered in my ear.

"You what?"

"The school's cutest couple, next to me and Laxus, of course. Speaking of, I have to talk to him about the dance."

"Oh, did he ask you?"

"Yeah, it was really cute. There were flower petals and everything. He's a real sweetheart." Mira gets a dreamy look, and I smile.

"Ok, Mira. I have to go, but I'll see you later."

"Text me if you ever need anything, even if it's just to talk, or rant. Here's my number." I hand her my phone, and she adds her contact.

"Bye, Lucy!!"

"Bye Mira!"
