"As for those who reached my frontier, their seed is not, their heat and their soul are finished forever and ever." Ramses III
Around the corner restaurant Edmond, Oklahoma 8:30am, Gibson walked into the restaurant and sat down with Special Agent Moses Kirby at a booth in the back of the place and they ordered breakfast and coffee.
"You called me to meet you here, what's up?", Kirby inquired noticing the look in Gibson's eye, and the young lady watching them from the table across from them.
"I have been playing and replaying what happened on the hill a few weeks ago, and still have trouble believing the fact that I couldn't get to my gun fast enough," Gibson replied as their coffee arrived.
"You were in a bad spot, it happens to all of us at one point or another," Kirby replied keeping an eye on the table across from them.
Gibson looked at Kirby for a moment;"what's up?", He asked.
"How long has the young Asian lady been watching us?", Kirby replied.
Gibson took in a sip of coffee and swallowed hard.
"She's been eyeballing us since I walked as far as I know, what'd you suppose she wants?", Gibson shot back.
"Not really sure, should we go over and ask?", Kirby replied.
Gibson shook his head;"I don't want to put her on the spot," he responded sipping his coffee.
They finished talking, paid for their meal's and headed out.
Guardian Investigative Service Headquarters, Edmond public safety building, First street Edmond, Oklahoma, Angel walked out pulling on her coat as they walked in.
"Priest's dead body was just found in the record building at Memorial Park Cemetery," she told them.
"Wouldn't that be a local authority matter?", Kirby asked.
"They're saying that this is the sixth preacher's body found in a cemetery in the past three weeks, they're asking for our help on it," Angel replied.
"Let's go," Gibson replied.
Memorial Park Cemetery Edmond, Oklahoma, they showed their identification to the police guards as they drove in, and were shown to the back East part of the place, where the body laid slung over a rather ornate gray marble headstone.
Gibson and Angel knelt down beside the Medical Examiner.
"Father Price Axle, thirty-five based on liver temp and levitity, his been dead for at least twenty-four hours," she told them.
"It looks like he took quite a beating," Angel replied.
Shana and Jake called Gibson across the way.
"He was running from someone, the footsteps start at the first headstone from back northern corner and stop where the good father lays," Shana told him.
"Looks like he had four men hot on his heels, why didn't they just surround him and beat him to death back there?", Jake asked.
Samantha showed her flashlight along the trail;"thrill of the hunt, surrounding him would've ended it too soon," Samantha replied.
"There's another one back here and he's still barely alive!", Manning called out from the back.
Gibson and Angel joined him beside the other man.
"It's another Priest, and it looks like he took a beating as well," Gibson replied.
"I just called a bus, should be here in a few minutes," Manning told them.
"Any identification on him?", Gibson asked.
"It's Father Richely, he must've been trying to stop the hunt," Gordon said.
"Either that or maybe he was beaten first and put up a fight," Kirby theorized.
They finished up and headed back to headquarters.
Samantha and Tasha began going over the pictures of the scene, while Manning and Navarro headed down to the Morgue.
"What do you have for us Holly?", Navarro asked.
"The good father's beating took place Post Mortem, he had at least nine stab wounds that he took before the beating," She returned.
"So our Priest comes across Richely being beaten, tries to stop it, and is chased through the cemetery, until he's stabbed and beaten to death," Manning theorized.
Holly eased forward shaking her head;"not exactly, he didn't come upon the beating, he was invited to watch most probably," Holly responded.
"What is this theory based on?", Navarro put in.
"It's based on the bruises on the wrists , he was grabbed and forced to watch, until he got free and took off," she replied.
"So he's called and heald against his will, watching his friend being beaten and manages to free himself," Gordon began.
"The men chase him down, stabbing him nine times, and then beat him, why beat him if he's already dead?", Gordon asked.
"Adrenaline rush maybe," Manning put up.
"That might factor in why they needed all four people in the party to hunt him down, but wouldn't they be afraid of Richely getting away?", Navarro asked.
"Could be, I also pulled this out of the second wound in Price's back," she said handing them a piece of metal about an inch long.
"Alright thanks," Manning said as they left.
They headed back upstairs to talk with the others.
Manning looked at Gordon for a minute;"why were you helping Holly out?", He asked.
"I figured I might expand my horizons a bit," Gordon replied.
Boyd and Barton stepped into the meeting room to join them.
Angel stepped foward at the head of the the table.
"We've got six dead priests including our newest victim, and Richely is in the hospital, how do we proceed?", Angel questioned.
"Our killers seem to love to hunt, they chased him almost out of the place," Tasha replied.
"That is true but even if he made it to the wall, he'd still have a ways to run, until he could've gotten in touch with anyone," Harrison said.
"That and the factor of traffic along that street, he might have been killed anyway," Kirby put in.
Manning gazed up at Angel;"did we get time of death?", He asked.
"Approximately five thirty last night," Angel replied.
"Someone had to have been driving by on their way home from work and seen something," Manning said.
"True but, how do we go about tracking down witnesses?", Samantha asked.
"What if we were to put feelers out on Social media and other outlets and see what we get?", Boyd replied.
"Good idea, everyone else shake down your snitches and see if you can get anything," Angel replied.
Milgard glanced at the piece of metal found on the body for a minute, with a perplexed look on her face.
"Who chipped the vic?", She asked.
"I knew I recognized that thing, it's what they use to tab locations of secret operatives," Harrison replied.
"Yeah, I had mine removed after I faked my death," Gibson put in.
A detective walked into the room and motioned for Angel and Manning to follow him out to the lobby.
"Who's that?", Manning asked him as they gazed over at the man sitting in the lobby.
"Not sure but, he's been moving back and forth in the chair and confessing to having killed Richely," the detective replied.
"Wait, that's the guy that tried to confess to the last two killings and eight home invasion robberies," Manning replied.
"Yeah but, we were able to disprove his involvement in those crimes," the detective answered.
"How long has he been here?", Angel questioned.
"Got here three minutes ago and has been doing that since he got here," the detective answered.
"Didn't he confess to Father Richely and Father Price the last time?", Manning asked.
"Yeah, I think so," the detective replied.
They thanked the detective and motioned for the man to follow them back to an interrogation room.
The man got up and followed them into the room and motioned for Samantha to watch from outside the window.
She stood outside in the hallway.
They walked in and sat down across the table from him.
"Delbert Scruggs, you've made quite a little hobby out of confessing to crimes you had nothing to do with," Angel began.
"I did this one, I did this one and beat up Father Richely," he rattled.
"Why are you convinced of this, aren't you aware that four people did both crimes?", Manning put in.
"No, no, just me, I'm telling you!", He raged at the top of his lung's.
"Angel, I need to talk to you outside," Samantha called in.
Angel walked out into the hallway and shut the door.
"What's up?", Angel questioned.
"This guy's showing signs of Unbridled rage syndrome and maybe even Asperger's syndrome, be careful not to set him off anymore," she told her.
"What about the pryor confessions, what would cause him to do that?", Angel questioned.
"Some Asperger's people feel the need to be involved in certain things to gain noteriety, he's just chosen the wrong things to call attention to himself," Samantha replied.
"I would have guessed that he's covering for someone and his actions and mood are false," Angel replied.
"These things aren't falsehoods with him, please do your best not to piss him off, he looks pretty strong," Samantha warned.
"Check into his mental health history and we'll see what we can do to keep him calm," Angel replied.
"Me and Barton are on it," Samantha returned.
Angel ordered Scruggs to be taken to the coffee room and had Tasha wait and talk with him.
Samantha came back to them an hour later and handed Angel the file.
Angel looked through it.
"This guy's been in and out counciling in the past four to five years, institutionalized six times in the past year under suicide watch, why did they release him?", Angel questioned.
Gordon gazed over her shoulder at the file.
"Calm Stream Mental Hospital Mustang, Oklahoma, I know this place, they're constantly under investigation from the state," Gordon told them.
"For what, and why didn't they share with us, it is along Highway one fifty two," Angel quipped.
"You know them, they don't share with us, unless someone dies unexpectedly, or something like that," Gordon answered.
Angel and Manning headed back down to the room, where Scruggs waited on them.
Samantha watched from outside.
Scruggs told them how he'd called Price and Richely out to the cemetery and beat them both.
Gibson interrupted them with the results of the footprint Analysis.
Manning looked at the results and gazed up at Scruggs;"according to this, you weren't there, who're you covering for?", Manning popped at him.
Scruggs got up from his chair, throwing his chair at the right side wall;"lie, lie, lie, that's all the freaking feds do is lie!", Scruggs roared.
Samantha and Milgard rushed into the room as Scruggs threw the table into Peace and Manning, knocking them to the ground.
Manning helped Peace to her feet and they were ordered to stand down as Samantha and Milgard subdued Scruggs, taking him to the ground on his stomach, cuffing him.
"Lies, it's all a fragging pack of lies!", Scruggs roared at the top of his lung's as he was led away.
"Way to throw him into a rage guys, we may not be able to get anything out of him now," Samantha told them.
"Sorry, I have never dealt with that before," Manning replied.
"I warned you all to be careful, and you disregarded me, way to freaking go!", Samantha growled storming off.
Manning looked at Angel;"I'm sorry for my actions," he said.
"It's alright, she'll calm down and realize you meant no harm," Angel replied.
Manning shook his head and rolled his eyes, walking back to his office and sitting down.
