"Hail, Emperor, those who are about to die salute you." Gladiator salute
Guardian Investigative Service headquarters Edmond public safety building Edmond, Oklahoma, Angel gazed up at the television hanging on the wall in the coffee room, noticing the news coverage and the pictures and information about them being on it.
"Who in the world sent the information on our fugitives to the press?!", "I told you all no freaking press!", She boomed.
A young blonde haired brown eyed female detective looked at her for a minute;"I did ma'am," she replied cowering in her chair.
"Were you not in the meeting when I told you no press, what's your name?!", Angel barked.
"Detective Karina Hallaway, and yes I was there, I just didn't get the reason behind your request," Hallaway replied.
"The reason behind the request is unimportant, the fact that feds requested it should be enough!", Angel raged at her.
"Yes ma'am, what should I do now?", Hallaway replied.
"Hope that it was just on the county news and not statewide, don't disobey orders again," Angel breathed.
"Yes ma'am, may I ask why you issued the order?", Hallaway replied pouring herself a cup of coffee.
"We want them to get comfortable and not dart in fear," Angel replied.
"Understood and it won't happen again," Hallaway responded.
Gibson walked into the room and looked over at Angel, motioning for her to meet him in the door.
Angel walked up to him;"what you have?", She fired at him.
"One of our informants in Guthrie has information about the fugitive's next job, wants to meet us on West Oklahoma in downtown Guthrie," Gibson replied.
"Take Manning and a team and go," Angel replied.
Gibson cocked his head back;"why aren't you coming?", He asked.
"I've got to put out a fire here, and meet you there," Angel replied.
"Gotcha," Gibson responded.
Across the street from Guthrie first national bank 202 West Oklahoma Street Guthrie, Oklahoma, Gibson and Manning pulled into the parking lot and waited for the informant to show up.
As they waited, an armored truck marked Collier armored transport on the sides pulled up to the back of the bank and two people in vests got out and walked in.
"That's odd, don't those trucks usually pull up to the front door?", Gibson asked.
"Usually," Manning replied noticing a car pulling up to the front door and another car pulling up on the side street across the street.
"Something's going down, call it in," Gibson ordered exiting the car, gun drawn.
Gibson posted himself on the side of the building across the way, ready to take down whoever came outside of the bank.
More of their people and police pulled in and got ready.
A few minutes later, the armored truck people and several other armed people came out the back.
"Federal agents and Police, freeze!", Gibson barked over the bullhorn app on his phone.
The robbers opened fire on them, semi automatic weapon fire hitting Special Agents Gillam and Payne.
Payne was dead before she hit the ground.
Gillam was able to crawl behind their car, where she passed away seconds later.
Halfway through the gun battle, a young woman charged at them shouting;"hail Caesar, those who're about to die we salute you!"
The young lady took a bullet to the chest and fell to the ground with two others.
After fifteen minutes, the battle ended and the rest of the robbers gave up, along with the getaway drivers.
Angel walked up to the young who laid on the ground dying.
She put her weapon away knelt down beside her.
"What's your name?", Angel asked.
The young lady coughed up some blood and let out the words;"hail Caesar, those who are about to die, we salute," and then died from her wound.
Gibson walked up to her with a huge grin on his face;"you'll never believe who was leading the crew," he said.
"Who?", Angel asked.
"Ying Lott, how's she?", Gibson responded pointing to the woman on the ground.
"That's funny, she's gone," Angel replied.
"Add her to the sixteen robbers, two cops, one bank guard, two Special Agents and one wounded Special Agent," Gibson replied putting his gun away.
Angel looked at him lighting a cigarette;"Who got hit?", She asked letting out a puff.
Gibson lit a cigarette and let out a puff;"Special Agent Adam Quincy," he answered.
Angel shook her head;"it's a shame, he just transferred to us from Osage county," she responded letting out a drag.
"I know what you mean, killed by a shot to the head," Gibson answered flicking ash outside of the scene.
They finished going over the scene and headed back to headquarters.
Guardian Investigative Service headquarters Edmond public safety building Edmond, Oklahoma, Angel walked into her office and sat down, taking time to think about the horror of what she'd just been through.
Gibson walked into the room and sat down.
"I never thought that a gun battle would keep replaying itself in my head," Angel said.
"You're blaming yourself for the death of Quincy, no need to," Gibson assured her.
"How do you figure on that?", She asked.
"I've made same look you have on your face when I've lost partners," Gibson replied.
Guardian Investigative Service headquarters Edmond public safety building Edmond, Oklahoma, two days after Guthrie national bank robbery, Angel answered her desk phone as a call from Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McCloud, Oklahoma came in.
"Special Agent Peace," she responded.
"This is Ying Lott and I want to talk," she told her.
"Okay, we're on our way out to you," Angel replied.
"No, not here," Lott responded.
"Okay, I'll arrange for you to come here," Angel responded hanging up and calling the warden.
Angel made the arrangements and was told that she would be there in forty-five minutes.
Angel called Gibson and Manning into his office and told them everything.
"You think we're finally get a hold on this thing?", Manning asked.
"It's possible that we will," Angel replied.
"Good, this case is getting more and complicated by the minute," Gibson added.
Forty-five minutes later, a white van from the Correctional Center pulled up in front and guards guided a shackled Ying Lott through the doors.
Angel glared at the guards.
"Why is she shackled?", Angel asked.
"Regulations state that she's to be shackled during transport," the lead guard replied.
"She's in a law enforcement facility, she's not going to try to get away, unshackle her," Angel told them.
They unshackled her and she was led back to an interrogation room, where she sat down.
"I was given a raw deal, Hail Caesar promised us if we got caught, we'd be given good lawyers, I got a damned public defender," she began.
"She said that we'd be out in hours of our arrest, I've been in stir for two days," she said.
"Hail Caesar, is this what you call Cana Caesar?", Angel asked cocking her head.
"I was arrested on a DUI and was given the wrong Parole officer," she responded.
"How does this operation work and how does it tie in with the Priest slayings?", Angel asked.
Ying eased up in her chair and told them that anyone who got Cana Caesar as their Parole officer was automatically put in with a crime ring that was responsible for the rash of bank robberies jewelry store heists, and were promised good lawyers if they were caught and would be out in a matter of hours.
She also went onto tell them that Caesar's brother had recently committed suicide due to sexual abuse suffered from the oldest priest that was slain and also said that the Degaul's and Scruggs brothers were recruited for the same reason.
Angel looked at her for a minute.
"Why didn't you want to tell us this at the facility?", Gibson asked.
"We were told by her that she's got people who kill us in any facility for snitching on her," Ying responded.
"So, are you willing to testify to all of this in court, we might either be able to get you exhaunerated or a shorter prison sentence for helping," Angel replied.
"Exhaunerated, why?", Ying asked.
"Wrong place, wrong time, you didn't know who you were going to get assigned to as a parole officer," Gibson replied.
Ying agreed to testify and told them that the rest of the crew was supposed to meet Sruggs' brother in Dewey in a week.
They put Ying Lott into protection and called Washington County and told them everything.
