Si-ho Calling.

Her phone had been ringing nonstop, but she couldn't bring herself to swipe to answer the call. She just kept staring at the screen. Her eyes were still clouded with unshed tears. She knew she should answer it otherwise Si-ho might become worried sick but...

"Give me the knife Min Sang-un, please... give it to me."

Hwal said, distracting her from her own thoughts. She looked at him, her mind was still all over the place, overwhelmed by all of the things he said just before her phone rang. She hesitated but Hwal eventually took the knife from her hand.

"Let's go home now."

This karambit knife used to be her twin sister's knife. Sang-yeon used it to defend her with, from the bus driver who turned out to be a reincarnated monster, the night they fled. The same knife she attempted to use against Ok Eul-tae when she saw what he did to her twin sister and her mother that fateful night. This used to be the knife that kept her alive and protected her when she was in danger. But today, she ended up using this very same knife to try to take her own life.

And for what really? She had a multitude of reasons. She was not only doing it for him, so she tells herself. She wanted to right the wrongs of her past, to be free of her guilt, to end things where they began in this mountain. She wanted to return the soul that she had stolen from Hwal and for them to go back to their rightful places. So he could go back to his family as a human being, and so she could end the mess that she and Ok Eul-tae had started a millennium ago.

She figured that since Hwal used to be human, he could never beat Ok Eul-tae. He has tried at least twice, and in both times he failed to do so, coming out of it gravely injured. She figured if she could go back to her old self, she could beat Ok Eul-tae whom she believes as her equal, a full Bulgasal, and finally end all of this. She figured that if she was the one who cursed Hwal, which affected Si-ho and Do-yun's lives in the past as well as now, her dying as Bulgasal with Ok Eul-tae would put an end to it all. But that was not going to happen anymore. Her plan was now ruined because of what he said.

"I can't let you go. I can't. I can't do that. For all my life I only thought about you. You saved me from the villagers when I was a kid. I was sorry that you died for me, so I only thought about you. And because I hated you for killing my family and taking my soul, I thought about you and looked for you for six hundred years. Now that I know the truth, I have no reason to get revenge on you anymore. I could have moved on with my life. But I lived with only thoughts of you. So I can't let you go. I can't let you die with Ok Eul-tae."
