"I know that politicians throw out promises the way rose petals are showered over a baraat during a wedding, and the only way that I can prove to you all that my promises are not just words, is by acting upon the promises. For the sake of our future generations, we must work for the betterment of the country, and not our own personal pockets."

The photo of the smiling baby made me smile, even though it was just a poster. My gaze moved back towards the plasma TV on the wall, where I could see Hamdan giving his speech in front of an exceptionally large crowd.

"The future generations determine the future of the country, and education will be one of our priorities. Everyone must have easy access to it, regardless of economical background. I know it's easier said than done, but we would find ways to make it happen. But even more important than that is our healthcare. For anyone to be educated to or to educate, they need to have a good health. So, I'm announcing today, the three main priorities for the Azaad Awam Party: food for all, a better access to education, and good healthcare."

"Mrs Hamdan?" The nurse called my name, as her gaze briefly flickered to the TV screen.
I stood up, also glancing at the TV screen. Future generations.

"The kids of this country have every right to have a good education, just as much as any kid in any other country." I continued. "I will fight for these basic rights for our people, and I won't just talk, I'll act upon my words. It's about time politicians did more than make lengthy speeches in order to lure people in."
The crowd cheered and I nodded at them all, giving a small smile.
I glanced at my wrist watch. It was time. It was the day we would find out something potentially life changing.
