Your heart was in your throat as you drove towards Rick's, just a drive by to make sure he got there safe and then you would go meet the gang. You would get Dustin to yell at him or something you didn't know. You sort of understood why he jumped out of the car when you had time to process it his ramblings made a little more sense. Your heart thumped at the thought of him not wanting to put you guys in any more danger, the things people thought about Eddie were just wrong and you really wanted to tell him that.
Eddie had a good five minute head start and it was a little quicker to walk and take some short cuts as opposed to driving. The bad feeling was creeping up your spine again and you stepped on the gas a little harder wanting to get there.
As you saw his house come into view you noticed a familiar vehicle in the driveway and your stomach plummeted.
"Fuck, Jason" you hissed to yourself. You drove by the house and tried to remain calm, it was possible he didn't find Eddie and wouldn't. You quickly weighed out your options, you could go in there guns blazing which probably wouldn't work and make it obvious Eddie's there and you're on his side. You could play nice to Jason, say you felt really bad about his nose and tried looking for him to apologize. You figured the only way that would work is if he had time to calm down, if he was still mad he would easily call you a bitch again. You thought that would probably be plan B. For now the most to could do was look from afar.
You looked down into the property as it came into view darkness was setting in but from your vantage point you could see there was something going on in the lake. "oh shit" you whispered as you realized Eddie was in the lake Rick's small boat with Jason and a few of his guys hot on his tail swimming after him.
You shot out of your car to run to the lake, you didn't know what you were going to do when you got there but you just knew your feet were moving. As you approached the edge you could see Eddie was standing in the boat threatening Jason and Patrick to stay back.
You could suddenly sense something was happening, both Eddie and Jason froze and you lost sight of Patrick. It was only a moment later when he suddenly shot out of the lake. He hovered in the air for a second before his bones started to snap. The sounds echoed out across the black water, you could hear it all the way from your spot on the edge. Your breath caught in your lungs and your body refuses to move, the cracking, snapping and popping sounds continued. It was horrific to watch but you couldn't look away.
As quickly as it started it was over, Patrick's limp body fell back into the water and the spell seemed to lift instantly. Fear exploded in your chest as you looked to Eddie, now in the lake after falling off the boat. His face looked terrified and mirrored your own, his eyes widened as he noticed you standing there. He looked to Jason and noticed he was still just floating in the lake, too stunned to do anything. Eddie looked to you and quickly mimed what you figured was skull rock - he knocked on his head and pretended to throw something before he mouthed "go" and turned, swimming as fast as he could to the other side.
The feeling came back to your legs arms as you quickly turned and ran back to your car. You didn't know of anyone saw you - you didn't think so but you also didn't really care at this point.
---
You spent the ride to skull rock recounting the events that lead you to bursting into Creel's abandoned house. You were all crammed in the one car but figured it would be easier the get caught in one and you also didn't really want to be alone. Experiencing it first hand was a lot harder and you couldn't get the sounds of Patrick's bones snapping out of your head.
Everyone was walking in the woods in pairs following Dustin's compass. You were in the front with Steve and Dustin, anxious to get there and see Eddie.
