[ awake ]

I blinked slowly as I opened my eyes.

my vision was blurry as I rubbed my eyes.

I could hear birds chirping and the smell of food.

My door suddenly opened as a nurse came in my room with food.

that's when I finally looked around my surroundings and wondered where I was.

"uh- excuse me.." I said with a raspy voice.

the nurse looked over at me as if they were surprised.

"oh, you're finally awake" they said checking a heart monitor that was connected to me.

"what-? where am I?" I asked.

the nurse looked at me weird.

"you don't remember?"

I froze as I got a sudden flashback of my hands drenched in blood and being surrounded by glass shards.

"No.."

"Don't worry Dr. Lim will explain to you shortly" the nurse turned as they were about to leave.

I suddenly remembered.

"wait-" I said as the nurse paused.

"where's beomgyu?" I asked.

"who?"

"beomgyu.. a patient with black hair" I said.

"Beomgyu? We don't have a patient named beomgyu" they said.

"oh- never mind.." I said as the nurse left.

but I saw him last night..

could he have left that fast?

[ therapy ]

I was in Dr. Lim's office now for a therapy session.

I sat there quietly as he was writing some things on his notepad.

"how have you been feeling lately?" he finally spoke.

"I'm feeling much better, I haven't been able to sleep like that in months" I said.

"Yes, you slept for 3 days straight"

"I did-?"

"Yes you've seem to have gotten much better after your second day here, I think all you needed was a change of environment" he explained.

I sat there quietly in disbelief.

had I really been asleep for 3 days ..?

I finally parted my lips.

"Dr. Lim.. do you know anyone called beomgyu?" I asked.

His face froze as if he had seen a ghost.

"Beomgyu?"

"yes- i met a boy called beomgyu and he helped me fall asleep"

He sat there quietly and finally spoke.

"well, since you haven't been sleeping well for a while, you must've hallucinated a boy and named him beomgyu" he explained.

I sat there confused.

"but it felt so real.." I muttered.

"All hallucinations feel real"

"oh.." I said feeling disappointed.

"How's your head feeling?" he suddenly asked.

"my head-?" I asked touching it as it felt sore.

I suddenly got another flashback.

I could see my vision fading, I felt blood drip down my face.

I could hear my aunt screaming and crying from afar as she rushed over to me and I passed out.

"are you okay?" dr. lim asked.

"yes." I lied "my head feels better"

"Yes, when you arrived your aunt had told me that you saw a picture of your father-"

I felt my heart drop when he said those words.

when I had saw the picture of my dad, I had grabbed the picture frame and at the moment I felt nothing but anger..

I raised it to my head and smashed my head into the picture frame.

there was a glass shard in my forehead and used the glass to stab through the picture of my dad.

I suddenly remembered where I was as dr. lim was finishing up the session.

My therapy session had ended and dr. lim walked me back to my room.

I sighed as I sat on my bed and noticed something on the bedside table.

It was a flower.

the same one beomgyu had given to me.

I lifted it up to my nose to smell the flower.

my eyes teared up.

Was it all just a dream?
