Final Showdown

Tara's POV:

We all hop into the maintenance hatch and slide down to New York City. Leo's got me, Raph's got Vern, and Mikey's got April, much to his delight.

Mikey: "Please keep your arms and legs inside the shell at all times."

Donnie: "Satellite imagery shows Shredder's reached the top of Sacks Tower."

Leo: "If that's where he's releasing the toxin from-"

Donnie: "It's gonna spread all over the city."

We eventually reach the inside of Sacks Tower.

Leo: "All right, listen up. We gotta find the elevators and get up to the roof. You guys get out of here. Get to a safe distance."

April: "No, no. We can go find Sacks and get our hands on the mutagen as a contingency plan. Just in case, you know."

Raph: "Thanks for the vote of confidence."

Leo: "Fine, Tara, you're with them."

Before I can say anything in rebuttal, Leo continues.

Leo: "You'll get your chance to fight him. Just go with them for safety precautions. If we don't make it back-"

Me: "Leo-"

Leo: "If we don't make it back, bring the mutagen to Splinter. It can save his life."

Me: "You're making it back, Leonardo. So help me, you will make it back even if I have to drag your shells from here to New Jersey. But, you have my word."

Leo nods with a small smile.

Donnie: "Sacks' laboratory is on the 36th floor. I've already disabled the security system. Oh, and, uh, good luck."

Leo, Raph, & Donnie run off while Mikey stays behind for a minute.

Mikey: "If I don't return, remember me, April. You can always find me-*touches her chest*-In here."

Raph drags him away while we rush off to find Sacks.

Vern: "You're a complicated chick, O'Neil."

Me: "That makes two of us."

Vern: "Oh, yeah. What's your deal with Shredder?"

Me: "He's my Dad."

Vern: "Oh, that's--Wait, what?"

{Time skip}

When we reach the lab on the thirty-sixth floor, we duck behind a table as Sacks opens fire at us.

Sacks: "Seriously? You guys, you're adorable, really. I could just pinch your cheeks."

Sacks fires more bullets as he begins another monologue. Vern nods his head over to the wall that contains a button labeled 'Halon abort'.

Sacks: "I understand girls with dead & disowned daddy issues. I do, but you're not gonna stop me. This is history repeating itself. Your father walked in on me, April, just like you did. Took a few less bullets to take him down, though."

April: "You killed my father."

Sacks: "And Tara, I was so sorry to hear what happened to your mother. But, on the bright side, it proves that the toxin worked then, and it still does now. Shame your father never had what he needed for the antidote. But you saw to that, didn't you? Handing us the turtles on a silver platter?"
